A modern convenience for sure but something that has been around for over 50 years and is a staple in most homes in America at least, I'm not sure about other countries.

So a friend of mine is sick and I was going to send them one of those microwavable stuffed animals, before I hit the buy button on Amazon I asked them if they owned a microwave just to make sure(they didn't know I was sending them anything it was ment to be a surprise) they replied to me that they don't own a microwave. And I'm a little shocked by this.

My question is, do you own a microwave? If not, why not?

I have always had a microwave in my house since I was a child so I find it very odd not to own one.

I don't. Don't like to microwave anything, I cook it on the stove or oven, toaster. Microwave ruins everything, its good for like melting butter to cook and things like that but quality wise its not so good.

I get that and I agree. I don't use my microwave as much as I used to since I got a airfryer but I still use it for some things that need to be heated up quickly.

I have an airfryer/toaster oven combo that does the trick. I haven't even explored all of the settings. I am not opposed to a microwave but our current kitchen didn't come with one and I don't plan on buying one.

We adding a kitchenette to our guest house and in the future will do almost a full gut of our main kitchen. I plan to put warming drawers in both. Its the opposite of a microwave, a slow cooker as it was. But you can also use it to keep heated food warm and also heat up plates. Nothing worse than rapidly cooling food cause the plate is cold.

I do but my use of it is very limited. I lived with a roommate my age about 10 years ago who didn’t have one and didn’t want one. She’s convinced it zaps the nutrients out of food, among other reasons. Idk but I don’t completely trust it myself. It’s definitely not my preferred method and I utilize it for melting butter, defrost sometimes if I’ve forgotten, and for liquids a lot.

what do you think about people who'd microwave a steak? 🤔🤔

Crazy. Is how I think about em. Especially if they microwave it straight raw and not heat it up being left over. Either method it's still crazy cus I don't like to heat my steak up at all. It can turn my favorable rare steak to medium rare when heating up.

Yeah I'm a microwave owner. I had an 1100 watt one but that one gave out on me. And then went and buy another one after that and that one blew up on me. And this one I got now. Um let's just see how long this one gone last before I have to purchase another one.

You obviously have a toxic relationship with Microwaves 😅

Lol yeah it seem I have a streak of bad luck with certain appliances. That first microwave I don't know what happen. And what's weird I didn't do nothing to it.
