I know there is a lot of folklore around 3:33am.... but does anyone have any idea what the significance of being woke out of a sleep at this time is? Mystically speaking of course.
I keep waking up at 3:33am.

Devils time. You going to die.
But really, ive been waking up at that time too and i fight off demons

No......I'm a Triple H guy lol.
It's actually funny. At the peak of the Attitude Era, everybody in my school was either an Austin or Rock fan. I had a friend who would constantly repeat Rock promos and would annoy the hell out of just about everybody. One day I went to give him a stunner. But I messed his hair up in the process and he got really mad lol.
Later he would make fun of me for being a "Stone Cold mark". And I'm like "uh.......I don't like him". And he goes "then why did you go for the stunner—".
"Because the Stunner is faster than the Pedigree."

Unsure, I'm not big into numerology.

Thanks this was awesome! I'vebeen seeing 11:11 quite often for the past couple of months andnow I have a better idea of what that means.

somewhat different but I think a somewhat cool story nonetheless....
Not sure if anyone knows the Amityville Horror story, but I used to live next to the home in NJ and drive by it occasionally. Anyway, as legend had it, the time 3:15am was very significant for one of the latter families that lived there; they claimed that several of them would wake up at that time every morning and experience all sorts of paranormal activity. It was later discovered that this was the exact time of the original murders that occurred there and allegedly were at the root of the hauntings, etc.
So I was watching this "making of" show about the movie, and they were interviewing Ryan Reynolds who starred in it. The cast was all familiar with the 3:15am story. Reynolds claimed it happened to him and other crew/cast members - they were waking up at 3:15am. He talks about it in an interview online here as well though doesn't say he directly experienced it:
"I think a lot of people make that stuff up to sell their movie, but there was some weird stuff that happened. A lot of the crew were waking up at 3:15 in the morning which was when all these atrocities in the house took place each time. I think it was a subconscious thing. You read the script and suddenly pop awake at 3:15 in the morning. The real Kathy Lutz died while we were making the movie. There were a few weird things."

Anyway - I watched the movie later that night and I told my gf "I know I'm going to wake up at that time tonight", half-believing myself. Sure enough, woke up exactly on the minute - 3:15am....Shook my gf awake, made her witness it...freaked me out...
I do think it was just self-suggestion as Reynolds indicates, as it turns out that there was no exact 3:15 thing in the original interviews; the time was roughly 3:30 for the murders and other stuff. So I lost what I thought was a half-decent ghost story....
interesting though how the mind can be loaded/programmed like that and react/coordinate subconsciously, even perhaps have a fairly accurate perception of time on its own. There have been other instances where I've been on vacay, needed to get up at some odd hour that I normally don't wake at, and woken up at that exact time though I forgot to program my clock.
Not being skeptical of any of the stories in the thread either. I believe in all sorts of paranormal things. I do think its hard to tell whether a lot of them are tricks of the mind though - and either way, its almost equally interesting.

So, have you decided that you think the house is haunted or not? Did they film the remake in the same house?
I saw the one from the 70s as a kid and was particularly haunted by it. I still have a weird feeling in my stomach talking about it. Same with The Entity. It's always especially creepy when there's sexual abuse in a horror flick.
Anyway, numbers, I still make a wish if I look up and see "11:11". Always heard 3 a.m. was the "witching hour".
No I haven't, and they did not film in the original house but made a replica which Reynolds says was also really creepy lol. I've watched a couple documentaries on it that had me spooked from the testimony, and read some debunking articles that seemed reasonable as well. With the big name/popular examples of any fringe phenomena, there's so much written from both sides, its hard to get a handle on it all firstly, and then even if I do feel like I've covered most of the ground, my opinion does tend to sway depending on which side I'm listening to at any given time. Though I have personally experienced phenomena I believe are paranormal (and actually think the balance of the studies done tips in favor of the reality there), I've never had any ghost sightings or perceived hauntings as an adult. I thought I saw some things as a kid but I've bounced back/forth on that a lot; I was too young at the time to confidently say now that I wasn't distorting or conjuring a lot of the imagery in my hysteria/fear. I tend to put a lot of weight on testimony though, especially if its corroborated to some degree by multiple people I see as credible, and there are a few stories I've heard (one involving an entire family I was very close with and stayed with for a while) , that tip me in the direction of believing in spirits/ghosts, mainly bc of my personal acquaintance with the witnesses, their level of skepticism and their overall *lack* of belief in the supernatural generally.
I agree on horror flicks, sex abuse, etc. It is physically/emotionally draining for me to watch that sort of thing really. I've experienced the 11:11 thing, around some really strange coincidences also related to that number's meaning in some schools of numerology actually. But then there's the argument that we're looking at the clock many times throughout the day, and just tend to not consciously remembering those random times, because they don't have the inherent pattern/parallelism of 11:11, 12:12, etc., or the same popular metaphysical significance. Can't say I haven't been spooked a bit on that though....

I want to watch the old movie again now. It probably wouldn't have the same impact. Is the new one good?
I saw paranormal things as a child too, and like you I don't know whether to trust my memory or not because I had a huge imagination.
Your theory about seeing patterned numbers makes sense to me. I don't recall ever seeing 11:11 or thinking it was strange before a friend taught me it had significance, but I saw it a lot after.
Earlier I was watching a lecture and I noticed the length of it was exactly 1:11:11 lmao...see how that happens? Same on imagination; I actually have some really vivid memories from early childhood that no one can confirm, and tbh I'm not even sure if anything even resembling them ever occurred - if they are dreams, purely creations of my mind, etc...The 2005 film with R. Reynolds is not good IMO, and got fairly terrible reviews. There are a ton of films based loosely on this movie now though, that have sort of grown into a series:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_films_based_on_the_Amityville_haunting
I don't keep up with horror much but I did enjoy The Conjuring, which a friend forced me to watch. It received decent reviews also, and stars Patrick Wilson who I think is a decent actor. It has a whole family of interrelated films that have popped up around it, and is based on other purported experiences of the main 2 paranormal investigators (Ed and Lorraine Warren) who were involved with the Amityville house. There are interviews and documentaries all over youtube about what these two claim to have experienced, their paranormal museum where they keep all sorts of weird shit like allegedly haunted dolls, etc.
I haven't seen The Conjuring 2 but will probably check it soon as its about their investigation of the Enfield Poltergeist case (which is pretty nutty, and very controversial). IRL they documented a lot of the crazy shit that happened there but much of it is just hours and hours of audio tape, and photographs that people have analyzed and argued about endlessly. A brief interview with the Hodgson sisters that lived in the home and whose story the Conjuring 2 is based on:
