Yea, there's only like a few decent ones out there. Are you surprised about Clinton? I'm not. I didn't like her at all, but I still voted for her.

I was always a Bernie supporter, that's never been a secret, and I think it's funny how no one, no matter which side, can deny that he is a man of INTEGRITY.

I just can't believe that we have these old, out of touch, moronic bullies have so much control over our country. It's quite disgusting.

I figured I was going to lose my health insurance sometime during Trump's presidency. Pretty scary for me since I have had health problems most of my life due to a botched surgery when I was 5. I had to have surgery for an issue pertaining to that last summer that billed my insurance over $ 85k dollars. I have worked at full time jobs that have denied me health insurance using corrupt loopholes. I have worked hard and held jobs since I have been 16 years old, I pay my taxes, and I was never able to get health care until Obama.

But I suppose this is all quite alright and republicans think its fair and cute that I should be charged $ 85k for a surgery. Can't wait until all these fucks just die off already. They will NOT be missed.
I am surprised by clinton ... 😢 you tried to tell me ...a couple people on here did and I didn't listen ...I really wanted to believe her ...omg that sucks about your health problems ...I just don't know ...what else to do ...to make a difference ...

Vote out all career politicians. Dissolve political parties so we can vote for a candidate rather than party line. Stop allowing corporate campaign donations. Better yet, we should limit how much that can be spent on any campaign. Let's go back to equal coverage from non biased sources.
girl!! all of this! maybe if we could level the playing field perhaps we can get a decent politician! I can only hope for the next rounds of politicians to be better or ..god sakes at least look out for the problems of the common guy 😢

And the government has made it crystal clear that when they don't approve of a politician that gains support among the people, they will do anything they can in their power to sabotage him/her, whatever the cost. We the people don't have say in jack shit and the real joke is that they lead us to believe we do.

girl! it seem like the more support bernie got the more people tried to sabotage even OUR OWN FUCKING PARTY ... its depressing and disgusting -_-

Both parties are so out of touch with the real world. The fact is the majority of these politicians are extremely rich and grew up extremely privledged. It's so ridiculous.

I am glad that they got rid of ACA because it was very useless and expensive for me but I understand why some people needed it. It wasn't a perfect solution for everyone. This country will never get healthcare right when these idiots in Washington are more concerned about winning the pissing contest.

I had her number from the start. She was my senator. I voted for her back then and learned my lesson. She won NY as a state but she lost the majority of the counties by a landslide. NYC has a large enough population to cancel it out.

Big Pharma is robbing us too.

My dog's vet let me in on a little secret. The chemo that he gives to dogs is the same medicine that is used on humans. It is administered by weight and its costs him around $ 15 to treat a 100 lb dog.

I am left of center and am a reasonable man. That said, the viewpoints expressed by the OP make me face palm like a motherfucker.

Hillary was a cunt. Bernie, while a good man at his core, his ideas will never see the light of day.

The only democrat you listed that's worth a partial shit is Franken. He at least makes people think as a good comedian does. He points out the stuff people are thinking but don't have the balls to say out loud.

I'm not much older than some of you but damn, seriously. Think beyond just Democrats and Republicans and realize both sides have something to offer.

And why doesn't Bernie's ideas see the light of day? They are not unrealistic. That is what the media and his saboteurs led the American people to believe. That is not reality.

What IS reality is that what he wants for our country is not so different than what most any other civilized and first world countries have in place outside the United States.

Marijuana is far more valuable to the government if it's illegal than if it's legal.

If you make it legal and tax it, you only collect taxes from those who buy it.

If it's illegal, you get to tax EVERYONE under the auspices of "protecting" them.

Medicaid covers low income whether they have children or not.

The people that struggle most because of medical expenses are the middle class. The premiums, deductibles and copays are ridiculous high. There are government and charity programs that help the poor with medical expenses. Nobody gets turned away and they won't get sued when they are under a certain income. I pay through the roof and I am drowning because of medical expenses. I work my ass off and do what I can because I have no other choice.

Do you have good insurance? What is your deductible?

What would that mean for civil rights protections? The federal government sucks, but it's often the only thing protecting minorities...ya know, until the racist despot took over.

14th Amendment still applies. And I would argue about the protections for minorities currently on display re the Federal government. More often than not, you have Tammany Hall writ large nowadays.

16th refers to the income tax. Prior to that, financing of the Federal Government came from tariffs and exe taxes. Starve the machine of money, it grinds to a halt.

17th Amendment refers to the election of Senators. Prior to its adoption, Senators were appointed to represent the individual states by various mechanisms within each state. Repeal, IMHO, would make it more expensive for special interests outside of those states to influence the appointment of Senators.

What IS reality is that what he wants for our country is not so different than what most any other civilized and first world countries have in place outside the United States.

this! the legalization of marijuana would create billion of dollars in revenue...for things like FREE COLLEGE ..

single payer would eliminate insurance companies thats billions of dollars that can go somewhere else like rebuilding our infrastructure

not to mention the jobs it would create to move toward renewable energy sources
Marijuana is far more valuable to the government if it's illegal than if it's legal.

If you make it legal and tax it, you only collect taxes from those who buy it.

If it's illegal, you get to tax EVERYONE under the auspices of "protecting" them.

Not to mention "asset forfeiture"......

Repeal the 16th and 17th amendments.

There is a movement to hold a convention of the states to propose amendments to the Constitution to bypass Washington DC. It hasn't been reported on in the media, but one of the big drives behind it is to return to Federalism, i.e., take power away from DC per the original intent of the Constitution.

I know...I know I complain a lot about the opposite party ...but tonight I wanna talk about the left ...or whats left of the left lmao?

the democrat are so fucking weak its embarrassing ..it almost makes me ashamed to call myself one ...

things I have to address

1. Hillary let me down ...not cause she lost I mean we all gotta take that "L" sometimes ...but cause of what happened after ..she swore she cared and she would have our backs but as soon as there was nothing in it for her *poof* she was gone! da fuq! what happen to I won't abandon you? bernie sanders lost ...has it stopped him for roasting the ridiculous cabinet members nope! has it stopped him from talking about climate change? or free college or medicare for all ? nope ... has it stopped elizabeth warren from going on and on about policy ....no it has not

2.Trump care ...for real! this is obamacare with out any fucking benefits! and you know it! why don't the democrats push back on this FIGHT!, FIGHT FOR THE POOR, FIGHT FOR THE SICK, quit sniffing each others ass and do something~!

3.THIS PARTY IS JUST AS CORRUPT AS THE FUCKING REPUBLICANS ...the democrats have big donors that donate to their campaign ...like HEATH INSURANCE companies ..BIG PHARMA companies ..which effects how they vote on policies REPRESENT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE (this is why trump is in office cause people were tired of the establishment)

shout out to the 4 decent democrats

so ..if you are part of the democratic party ...how can we fix this mess— idea and suggestions
Facts.

But to answer your question...you leave the party and you join/vote Green.

The democratic party isn't weak per se it's a centrist party.

Like you alluded to our fiscal policy decisions mirror that of republicans because ideology wise we are very much aligned ...what's good for big business is good for the American people.

Republicans and Democrats tend to disagree on social policy more than anything,

Senate seats could still be bought prior to the amendment, though. Senators had been stripped of their position for buying votes in the state legislature.

True. But now a Senator in Nebraska can be "purchased" by some hedge fund in NYC and made to promote *un*sustainable farming practices.

Think of it as the East India Tea Company sponsoring a territorial governor in pre 1947 India.

This country will never get healthcare right when these idiots in Washington are more concerned about winning the pissing contest.
sigh I know the aca was shitty and expensive ...I know that ..but where I work insurance was SCAMMING before ..it was crazy that wouldn't cover cancer medicine cause it was a pre-existing condition ..or hiv or diabetes..now they wanna make rape, domestic violence, c-section, and postpartum depression added on to the LONG list of things that now NOT BE COVERED ... 😢 I feel so bad for people that needs help ..
The people that need help are out numbered by those with money but want it cheap..

Those systems aren't much better. They look good on the surface, but they are rotting at the core just like the US is.

It's just a matter of who benefits from everyone's tax money before it all runs out.

What are some examples of how they are rotting at the core? They seem to work fine for the people living there, and they certainly seem to be a lot happier than us, in every single possible aspect. Healthcare, vacation, education, quality of life all across the board.

No other country in the world who claims to be "civilized" would charge me $ 85k for a necessary surgery, or charge me $ 60k+ for a college degree, as far as I know. There's nothing else like it in the world. Pls correct me if I am wrong.

They are running out money and are in debt.

So, in your opinion, those countries aren't that much better off because they are also in debt? Quality of life and how they are spending that money isn't something to consider?

It's all fine and dandy until, again, the money runs out.

Then you don't even get that surgery or that degree.

When and how does that happen? When so many countries are billions in debt, when is it considered that the money has officially ran out?

Same as any household: when you can no longer service your debt.

It's not a household. It is a government. It is the safety net for when a household falls apart.
Budgets are budgets. Whether it's a house hold budget or a government budget.
Rocks are rocks, whether it's a pebble or a boulder about to fall on your head.

Nope.
It's still revenue and spending. Whether it's 25 thousand or 25 trillion.

However, individuals can file bankruptcy, do debt consolidation or, say fuckit.

US owns own money press. And, weakens its stance economically in the world... which may lead to...

This is not true. After Obamacare was passed several states, mostly the blue ones like New York, expanded Medicaid to include low income adults. Pre-Obamacare, and in states that did not expand Medicaid, adults only qualify for full Medicaid if they are pregnant, have very low income and children, are disabled, or are over 65 and dirt poor. Single adults under 65 who chose not to breed are not eligible for Medicaid except in the states that expanded Medicaid under Obamacare.

Do you have good insurance? What is your deductible?

1. It's decent. $ 500 deductible. $ 2000 OOP. ~ $ 40/pay period. When ACA went into effect, price went up slightly.. Maybe $ 5.

2. You're correct that medicaid covers those with low income. In Arkansas, Individuals qualify if their income is 138% FPL (which is $ 12,060 for an individual), so $ 16,642.

However.. Minimum wage in Arkansas is $ 8.50. At 40 hours a week (FT), that's $ 17,680.

That's $ 1000 over the FPL.. And you don't qualify for Medicaid.

See the issue there? That doesn't even factor in most not bein able to obtain insurance through their employers.

If you wanted insurance.. You'd have to trade the food on your table or roof over your head (literally) you buy a plan.

With the ACA and it's regulations for employers, Those working 40 hours a week could (unless the employers were douches) obtain insurance through their employer at a group cost, which although expensive.. Would be a hell of a lot cheaper than a private plan.

And those that still couldn't obtain through employers? A discounted price.

If you're paying super high premiums, you either didn't do your research.. Or you're income is too great.

1. I did do my research

2. My income looks decent on paper but after bills there isn't much left

But let's breakdown this down. I am full premium. I'm pretty sure the cutoff is around $ 68,000

After taxes $ 56000

Expenses

Mortgage with taxes and insurance. $ 24000

Heat and electric $ 3600

Phone/internet/cable $ 5000

Auto insurance $ 2136

Life insurance $ 1200

Now we are left with around $ 2100 per month.

My portion of the kid's insurance is $ 240

They are teenaged boys and haven't eaten yet. Groceries are high in NY. That's another $ 800- $ 1000

I need gas for my car. Another higher expense because of NY taxes. One of the kids needs sneakers or a lab book for school or anything.

But I still haven't paid my insurance premium which is $ 670

And i didn't meet the deductible yet so there are bills on top of that. And there is nothing left to save so I hope we don't have an emergency.

Do you get it now?

If I may ask.. Did you support Medicaid expansion in New York when it rolled around?
I'm not against Medicaid at all.

You are trying to demonize me for not liking ACA. Perhaps if you were in my shoes you would feel differently. You seem to think that I should pay double because I'm not poor enough, yet I don't see you volunteering to pay more. Your insurance plan sounds pretty good. Why don't you throw some extra cash in so we all can buy it?

Middle class gets screwed. I'm not poor enough to get cheap insurance but not rich enough to be able to afford the premiums.

And those without the means at all?

Medicaid always covered the poor. Is that changing?

And those without the means that aren't pregnant or have children?
Medicaid covers low income whether they have children or not.

The people that struggle most because of medical expenses are the middle class. The premiums, deductibles and copays are ridiculous high. There are government and charity programs that help the poor with medical expenses. Nobody gets turned away and they won't get sued when they are under a certain income. I pay through the roof and I am drowning because of medical expenses. I work my ass off and do what I can because I have no other choice.

Do you have good insurance? What is your deductible?

Sounds too me like you have a budgeting problem and take it out on those that don't even have the money to budget. imo
What the fuck is your problem? Seriously.....

You are telling me that I'm a bar person because I don't want to pay double for medical insurance. Why don't you pay double then? Your insurance is pretty cheap compared to mine. Are you bitter because I'm not poor?

I was personally okay with my premiums being increased so that others without the means could obtain medical insurance.

And I'm not saying you're a bad person at all. Just selfish.

What makes you so special that you should be able to afford insurance.. not others?

When did I say that others shouldn't be able to afford insurance? I simply said that mine is not affordable. I'm selfish because I want to pay my mortgage and feed my kids too? I am paying more than my fair share of insurance premiums and taxes.

I stand by my position that the middle class is getting screwed in all of this.

AHAC would all but eliminate Medicaid expansion.

The 1.9 million people in New York that obtained insurance due to medicaid expansion would either lose their insurance, or New York tax payers would have to shell out another $ 3.7 billion dollars a year to cover them in its place.

And I did throw in extra cash.. As I stated, I was perfectly okay with my premiums increasing so that others less fortunate could obtain medical insurance.

I broke down my income/expenses and you suggested that I have a budget problem and should pay more to cover the poor. Does the $ 10,000 a year in property taxes count? 8.75% sales tax? What about income taxes? I pay a lot into the system. The government is already bleeding us dry. What's the point?

Would I be less selfish in your eyes if I cut back my food budget and put more into the system? Maybe my son can skip that schoolbook or I can cancel cable.

I have three close friends on my Facebook page worrying about their preexisting conditions currently. One has a child who was born with half a brain. One has MS. One has 8 preexisting conditions. Fuck these Republican thugs, taking money from the poor and giving it to the rich.
I haven't gotten a chance to look over the bill passed by the house the other day..

Is it true that "rape" will be considered a preexisting condition—?
Not sure of the accuracy of this, as it's from Facebook, but perhaps a list to compare to the bill.

A list of pre-existing conditions lost under #Trumpcare:

AIDS/HIV, acid reflux, acne, ADD, addiction, Alzheimer's/dementia, anemia, aneurysm, angioplasty, anorexia, anxiety, arrhythmia, arthritis, asthma, atrial fibrillation, autism, bariatric surgery, basal cell carcinoma, bipolar disorder, blood clot, breast cancer, bulimia, bypass surgery, celiac disease, cerebral aneurysm, cerebral embolism, cerebral palsy, cerebral thrombosis, cervical cancer, colon cancer, colon polyps, congestive heart failure, COPD, Crohn's disease, cystic fibrosis, DMD, depression, diabetes, disabilities, Down syndrome, eating disorder, enlarged prostate, epilepsy, glaucoma, gout, heart disease, heart murmur, heartburn, hemophilia, hepatitis C, herpes, high cholesterol, hypertension, hysterectomy, kidney disease, kidney stones, kidney transplant, leukemia, lung cancer, lupus, lymphoma, mental health issues, migraines, MS, muscular dystrophy, narcolepsy, nasal polyps, obesity, OCD, organ transplant, osteoporosis, pacemaker, panic disorder, paralysis, paraplegia, Parkinson's disease, pregnancy, restless leg syndrome, schizophrenia, seasonal affective disorder, seizures, sickle cell disease, skin cancer, sleep apnea, sleep disorders, stent, stroke, thyroid issues, tooth disease, tuberculosis, ulcers.
Found some articles on it..

One of the latent effects will probably the closing of rural hospitals, which I imagine, receive the most benefit of Medicaid. So, all those rural voters that joined "the bandwagon" in support of other political propaganda will be further educated in politics if nothing else.

Husband twitted to one... "Are you benefiting from the ACA?" Response: "I don't trust banks."

I know this frustrating but get misted is making the point that there are those who already have cut back. On food cable and everything else... Draining their savings for cancer treatment... The crazy thing is it only takes one diagnosis for you or me to end up in the same boat...

There are people trying to decided if they can afford to keep their children alive....

I mean.. $ 5000/year for Phone/Internet/Cable?

Even if your phone bill is $ 150 a month..

That's an extra $ 3200/year if you cut out internet and cable.

There's your medical insurance premiums right there..
Cell phone is $ 220 for 4 lines (1is business line)

Internet/cable/landline is $ 240. I need landline for fax. I need Internet for work and the boys need it for school. I am in a rural area. There is only one provider. It's not feasible to cut nor do I want to. I work hard. I should get to watch cable.

Both parties are required for the success of the country, and both parties would totally destroy it if given full control. Control for a super long period of time that is. I won't go into super long details, but basically the left would destroy the country by slowly letting our enemies take over.

Never in the history of humanity has peace and understanding made an empire work. It just blinds you from the dagger in your back.

I find most people who only lean to the left to be less intelligent and lack common sense. I've seen a few people on the right who are the same way though. I'm not going to say much about the left, because I don't know much about it or relate to it anymore. In highschool I was more left, in recent years I've been leaning more to the right. All the way to the point I've become pro life, which is something I never was. Most of it came from idolizing Ben Shapiros opinions and debates. I found I really relate to the way he thinks.

Same. I fully accept and understand why both sides are important for the whole structure to work. The hardest part is trying to make both parties balance with one another. The country has been doing it since its creation, and somehow this dysfunctional mess still functions lol.

Anyways, as much as I enjoy a good debate I'm going to have to disengage from this thread for awhile. You and I are both too stubborn to find a common ground although I'm sure there is one.

How to fix the democratic party? Keep pointing out the fact that they stand for nothing when it comes to actually running a government and helping the poor, etc. When they say they do, it's just a bunch of bull shit lies.

The democratic party, and most "liberals" out there only care about others if they're "brown," black, muslim, gay, a transvestite, a woman, etc.

They believe the Constitution is a living document. It isn't.

They believe the USA is a democracy. It isn't.

They think people should become a bunch of social justice warriors, and vote for whatever female, or "brown" person they put on the ticket, and the rest will just take care of itself.

They believe "diversity" trumps all else. If you're white, a Christian, or a conservative, you are evil and should die. But if you're some brown tattooed freak, devoid of any gender identifying physical features, you're the poster child for their "diversity" campaign.

They're full of shit. As long as the above is their ideology, I will never vote for another democrat ever again. And neither should you.

Oh yeah, the way I look, I probably fit into that bolded part, minus any tattoos.

Your in a super political mood unfortunately tonight I'm not... I will read this later the one thing that did catch my eye was that the Democratic party hates white and Christians noo... The Democratic party has a lot of flaws but thats not of them... I wouldn't be part of a party that does .. I am a Christian.... And what kind assholes just hates a WHOLE RACE OF PEOPLE... -_-
