I guy I work with is in his forties & hes always sayin "my gf" this &that. Is referring to someone as gf/bf hella immature 2 u. Teens to early 20s is understandable. After those time periods the shit just looks pitiful

Like saying the 2 letters?

I didnt know people even said "my gf" out loud cuz thats weird

I always use her name when I talk to people about her. I feel like if you've been dating a person for awhile, you need to respect that they have their own identity beyond the relationship.

We call it "the one" here or "yer one"

Any age, fits all....age seems to be of less consequence than in some cultures.

the one? ๐Ÿ˜

I heard lots of people saying it, including Glen Hansard ๐Ÿ˜Š

never heard it, is it an older term?

Your one, is an ancient saying, the one is probably a derivative

How are you Smidge, how's the capital? ๐Ÿ˜Š

I'm married so I don't use the term anymore. BF usually refers to my best friend. Lover would refer to my side piece if I had one. I only refer to my husband as lover when I want to grose out my sisters. Significant other and partner just sound formal or sounds like I'm in a Lesbian relationship.

What if people started calling them "man friend" and "woman friend" ugh...that sounds bad too. I dunno. Call them what ever you want I guess.

Itโ€™s fine.

Just kinda annoying when they bring it up when itโ€™s super unrelated. Ok calm down, I just asked you for the time. Not to hear your whole life story.

Relax.
