As in using a simple band and let her pick out the perfect ring later.
Some women prefer this.

No..more like the scene in hidden figures where the protagonist who was a widow was proposed to by her love interest at home with her mom and kids present. She has just got home from work and it was a seemingly ordinary family dinner.
Her love interest had already asked permisssion from her three daughters and her mom before she got home. They were part of the surprise.
It was really beautiful.
