When I first saw it, I thought it was fake mainly cause of the fake mic sound and seeing both guys stance and wills hand aiming down with a weak slap hand.

Then when I knew it was fake was the reactions, Chris Rock pretty much gave it away, even will kinda laughs as he's walking back. As someone who's been in fights and seen them firsthand, they rarely elicit those type of reactions, even from bystanders.

Then to add to it, just think how someone can walk so casually towards someone and hit them then walk back. You'd definitely have some background people step in.

It was not an act. Your analysis sucks bc you are seeing what you choose to see due to your flat-earther gene and ignoring all the other signs. Here is what I see



1. Will Smith laughed at the joke first. If it was fake, his reaction would have been consistant from the moment they cut to him.

2. After the slap Chris Rock obviousely had a hard time getting back to his speech, performing as if in shock. There was no punchline in his performance which they would have had if it was staged and not just left it out there hanging..

3. Will Smith dropping the F-bomb. Unacceptable at the Oscars!

4. Behind-the-scenes video of Will's colleagues comforting him after they cut to commercial

5. Chris declining to file a police report, according to LAPD! Surely if it was fake the LAPD would have been informed beforehand, that's how that works.

6. It's not a seedy stand up club so joking about violence - especially two black men getting at it - would have been inappropriate in this time and place and the Acadamy wouldn't stand by it

7. The fact that they apperantly cut the live show in the US right as Chris was about to get slapped but this is only something one DXP'er claimed so may not be true. The rest are facts.



How could all of this have escaped you when chose to go the "fake" route? Talk about lazy thinking

You can say it's real all you want, but can't prove it. I can prove the earth isn't flat however. I personally believe it's real, but also can admit I can't prove it was real and not an act. You using personal opinion isn't fact.

Based on the points I brought up I can say with a greater certainty than the fake-mongorers that that's what went down. By far.

They haven't provided a single valid point, which mostly goes along the lines of "Hollywood is faketown so this must be fake" and "Im a fighter bro, and that's not what a slap looks like"

It doesn't make sense that the Oscar's would create a fake narrative pitting two people of colour against each other (especially in the current political climate), nor does it make sense to stage the leading actor engaging in a violent act and then consequently receiving an award after.

☝️ A point I brought up earlier but needed to be emphasized.

It would have been an excercise in poor taste and a political suicide for all the ppl and organizations involved to pin two black men against eachother in the current political climate when Hollywood has been struggling to save face.

Not to mention Will skipped the Oscars the other year in protest over the lack of black ppl in the Acadamy and you're telling me he now went 180 degrees and agreed to not only pull the tasteless stunt of punching another black man on the stage, but also approved beforehand of Chris making fun of Jada's condition?

Skipping the Oscars last time was a publicity stunt to get whoever is backing him to pay for an Oscar. Oscars are paid for, not based on meritocracy. Di Caprio won one for the Aviator, Pacino scent of woman - both forgettable entries in their back catalog.

The political climate is nowhere near as hot as it was two years ago. If you had say Pete Davidson fighting Ricky Gervais who cares? It's also got to be said again the nominations this year were some of the worst in history even worse than last time. Time to scrap the Oscars.

Dc young fly knocked out a guy for walking towards him on stage during a comedy show not long ago, and it looks like all comedians now are gonna have to get violent with these weak minded individuals who let words offend them. Nobody consoled Chris. It was sad and hard to watch. His joke wasn’t even that bad to warrant such a response.

Violence was in no way warranted. I liked Will, but I lost respect for him. And I honestly cannot believe people are okay with what he did and think someone can just assault someone, especially on television. That’s awful and sick honestly.

How do you know no one consoled Chris? It's not like the entire front rows can just leave the room in the middle of the show to go backstage where Chris was. And for that matter we don't know what happened backstage.

I'm pretty sure the same ppl who talked to Will also checked up on Chris.

They applauded his achievment in film, his life's work, his journey.. not the slap. Also im pretty sure everyone in that room saw he was at this absolute worst and showed a little compassion, "we got you". Bc you don't kick someone who's down, and Will was down.

Chris Rock was gonna be fine. He was the moral victor on every level. He was at a better place than Will before the slap and he was at a better place than Will after the slap. Why wouldn't he be fine?

It's absolutely mind boggling that no one can keep more than one narrative track going, i see it all over internet regarding this, it's just a one-way track with you ppl, black and white. "Why did Will laugh at the joke first?"
