For me:

Quality Time - 11

In Quality Time, nothing says —I love you?? like full, undivided attention. Being there for this type of person is critical, but really being there—with the TV off, fork and knife down, and all chores and tasks on standby—makes you feel truly special and loved. Distractions, postponed activities, or the failure to listen can be especially hurtful. Whether it?_s spending uninterrupted time talking with someone else or doing activities
together, you deepen your connection with others through sharing time

followed closely by..

Physical Touch -8

A person whose primary language is Physical Touch is, not surprisingly, very touchy. Hugs, pats on the back, and thoughtful touches on the arm—they can all be ways to show excitement, concern, care, and love. Physical presence and accessibility are crucial, while neglect or abuse can be unforgivable and destructive. Appropriate and timely touches communicate warmth, safety, and love to you.

It's important. That's the best gift anyone can give since that's one of the few things we can never get back.

Albeit not the receiving gifts... I always feel awkward, so that is spot on!

So do I.

I love giving them, though. :/

I'm amazing with presents. Yes, I am going to brag because I pay attention to people and they're shocked by how much I pick up on.

They can't come close to this awesomeness so I'm always meh. I love the gesture but I'd rather gift myself things.

What I find interesting with the results posted thus far, is that Physical Touch is listed last, and Word of Affirmation is listed first. Not for all of course, but for most.

For me it was because some questions were getting hugs from family / loved ones vs gifts.

I dont like being hugged by family. It's not something I'm used to unless I'm super close to them like my sis. The only one I want a lot of physical contact with is my partner.

Words of affirmation not really always but sometimes, I need it. Clear communication without passive aggressive talk is what I need.

it's funny...when you're a child you love receiving them, but as you get older, you give more. Like the role reverse...and you give and give until you grow old and die, and you have nothing left to give.
you = general.

You have permission to give me presents, then.

i have to warm up to people touching me... and for loved ones who touch me, i still have that consciousness about their touch... not that i coil at it at all.. it's something like this in my mind.."hey they are touching me. hey they are touching me. look they are touching me". i didn't grow up with hugs 😢

I didn't like gifts as a child either - made me feel "icky" inside... but, indeed I love to give, give, give and always have.

i loved it alot, i loved getting anything from my parents as it was very difficult for them when we were growing up so it was really really precious when it happened. My grandparents, however, we always got stuff.

But, hey, that being said... best gift I ever received was from a guy who stopped and picked me wild daisies off the side off the road
