Caps don't necessarily always lead. Think of Obama and his wife (Leo/Cap), I still think, even if I might be wrong, that Obama himself rules the family and is president of the US, but despite so, his Cap wife rules and takes care of things behind the scenes and make sure nothing goes wrong. This is similar to a Virgo in some aspects. But they can lead if needed.
Both find it hard to let go and want to fight back if pushed to the edge anyways. I'm surprised the Pisces roommate didn't run though. Pisceans are hella elusive.
