I love cream cheese and smoked salmon bagels 😋
I’m not Jewish and I hate bagels.
Actually I hate all breakfast items that are carb related with the exception of McDonalds’ weird oval hash browns
I’m mixed Chinese and Lao/Thai, born Buddhist but I’m sure there are people of my cultural background that love these items in general
Lol, see, bagels arent just for breakfast. I can eat them lunch and dinner too! McDonalds is just nasty....but I do like their hashbrowns.
My daughter could live off bagels. All she ever wants. She is not Jewish. haha

Are you Jewish? My mom loves Loxs and Bagels. I don't like Salmon in general, but loxs are a big Jewish thing too.
I love bagels! I’m not Jewish either

Nope. I don’t believe in religion.
But I believe in nice food 😄 A toasted bagel with lots of butter is divine

Lol.
Being Jewish isnt just a religious thing. I'm Jewish by default, it's literally part of my DNA. I don't believe in God either.
Maybe you have a Jewish ancestor who loved loxs. 😂

I'm not jew and I dont care for it. The same for English muffins. I dont see what people see so good in English muffins. I see a lot of white girls here eat bagels a lot. So I dont think it's a Jewish thing. One even offered me one with egg and cheese and it did tasted alright to say I dont like bagels. I guess I dont like it plain.
I dont like English Muffins either.
Correction *jews and NEW YORKERS love bagels...
All of you saying you don't like bagels, never had a good one.
NY= bagel capital of the world...
I like but they have so many carbs I don't eat them - I try to stay as far away from bread as I can because I do love it !
I love cream cheese and smoked salmon bagels 😋
Same yum 😋😋
I love a NYC style bagel
This is like saying ‘do only Italian people like pizza?’
They usually like things that are 10% off
I love cream cheese and smoked salmon bagels 😋
Those are my favorite along with ones with jalapeno cream cheese. I'm not even a big fan of jalapeno but the creamy goodness tempers it nicely 🤤

Maple and bacon is really really good on pancakes 😋 I am not so sure about the cream cheese 😄
I am Jewish and where I came from we had different type of bagels and no cream cheese. So we ate them with butter.
When I came to US I was buying bagels with cream cheese and coffee I’m the morning before work so almost everybody who were passing that stand and I am sure not all of the people were Jewish.
Only much later I’ve discovered bagel with cream cheese and lox.
And I always ate lox but without a bagels.
So...no, I say it’s not Jewish thing.
Look at all breakfast sandwiches on a bagels...
My issue with bagels is that they are very heavy on a dough...I wish bagels were more porous and lighter. I would eat them than but as of now I am staying away from bagels for years.
Not Jewish and I love bagels. I toast them and butter the shit outta of em. I do the cream cheese every once in a while.
One of the Attorneys I work for is Jewish and on his turn to bring Friday donuts...he always brings bagels lol.
Why would American companies mass produce bagels if only Jews liked them? Why would they be sold in every grocery store across the United States? That’s not a sustainable business lol
It’s fucking bread lol. People of every race and culture of all over the world have eaten bread and wheat/grains for thousands and thousands of years
I like dumplings too. Do you think is only a Chinese thing?

I bring quarts of syrup when I travel as gifts as VT maple syrup is the finest in the world. We're still working on the bacon though 🐖. Arkansas and the South as a whole does pig better lol

Dim sum yum 😋
Lol but yeah, like if you break it down every culture in the world basically eats the same thing. Everywhere has a simple “meat in bread” food as a staple...there’s only so many things to eat on earth lol. Just the preparation and specific ingredients seasonings and all that stuff varies

Totally! I am happy to try a bit from every culture to prove your point 😄😋
A toasted egg everything bagel with scallion cream cheese, heavenly! But I live in NY, they're the best here. Fight me on it.

It's next to New York state. Most progressive state in the Union, extremely scenic, and best Autumn anywhere. A tad biased lol but many would agree. I've had Iberico ham I think? in tapas meals. Slightly salty and thinly sliced? I've been to Madrid, Seville, Cadiz, Valencia, Granada, and Barcelona..but would like to see Cordoba, Arcos de la Frontera, Milagros/Mijas, Gaucin, Ronda, Nerja, La Taha de Pitres, Grazalema, and Zahara de la Sierra..as well as Portugal. So many places to see, only one lifetime lol

Unless you paid good money for it what you ate is serrano ham. Ibérico is the same but soooo much better. Amazing taste you would know 😄
Next time. You obviously have a good plan

I never said Jews were the only ones who ate bagels. In fact I said that I know other people eat them. My question was if other cultures get obsessive about them like Jews do.
It was just something that I was thinking about while I was eating one. Growing up and as an adult, I havent met anyone who really eats them on a regular basis other than Jewish people or those who have a lot of Jewish friends.
I’m not Jewish.
I had a bagel once with cream cheese and salmon.. the cream cheese and salmon were divine but the bagel honestly wasn’t memorable enough for me to try it again, and I love bread in general.

I am afraid most of the ibérico ham never gets out to the public 😅 But you can still get a really good pata negra serrano one. Best to go to a good butcher and try few and then you will understand the difference
Are Jewish people the only ones who really enjoy eating bagels?
Before you get offended, I am Jewish. This is why I'm asking. I've been eating Bagels since I was a baby. In fact, I'm eating one now. My mother(who is more Jewish then she would like to admit) would get up early every Sunday morning and go to the one bakery in town that made fresh NY bagels and buy enough for a couple of days.
So, as I am biting into this yummy bread donut slathered in cream cheese I started thinking that I never really hear other non Jewish people talk about eating bagels. Sure, I know other people will eat them, especially if they are free in the break room, but I've never heard or seen them buy them on their own. Is it really just a Jewish thing?
I'm not Jewish and adore bagels. A lot of my friends are Jewish, but regardles I've always liked bagels. I'm definitely into the fresh bagels more than the store-bought ones.
I eat a bagel every morning and I’m Catholic. I just love themmmm. I always eat the bottom half first.
I am not a jew, but a toasted bagel and some cream cheese go well together for breakfast.
My mother is Jewish and had to have one every day. lol
Sadly I'm both unable to handle dairy or gluten (my sinuses get a bit stuffy from them), so I'm unable to partake in the joy that is eating a delicious, properly-made bagel.
However that's just as well, because I live in a city that's not exactly known for them.
