what is your daily makeup/beauty routine? are you bothered by makeup or beauty products? like eyeliner making your eyes water, hair iron, hot air blow drying making your head hurt, hair products making your head ache lol. i am most comfortable with just a moisturizer and chapstick, now maybe some concealer, foundation and chapstick/gloss. but too much makeup either i am too lazy for that or just not into it. just made this thread because some girls look like they spend quite a lot of time on makeup daily. not sure if it is necessary but also kudos to them for making time for it daily. and do you do your hair everyday?

I like this thread!!

So wake up and shower.. wash hair etccc. Once a week I use a purple shampoo to make my hair blonder and without yellow tones. Leave it in for five minutes.

Then I either put tea tree oil, or lotion on my face. If my face feels oily, i use tea tree. If it feels dry i use cetaphyl lotion. Then I use my foundation.. which is by the body shop; fiji sand tone. I use my bronzer for some contour. Then i do my eyes. Just an eyeliner pencil and mascara. Theennnn blow dry my hair, if it forms nicely I don't straighten. But if there are kinks and such I do. That's my morning routine.

At night i wipe it all off with makeup wipes. I forget what they're called but they have aloe vera and camomile so they're gentle. Then I use tea tree all over and go to sleeps!

And maybe its not neccessary. But oh well haha

hahaha as long as you like it. it does not seem like you go over the top but like still have enough makeup to not look too casual. nice. do you wash your hair everyday? i wash like maybe twice a week and mostly just blow dry without a brush, with hands. when at home may not even blow dry just let them dry.

Days off...

1 day is dedicated to spa stuff. Body scrub, face mask, hair oil, pedi/mani. blah blah. But it's shower, air dry hair, always moisturize head to toe

Work days...

Shower, blow dry hair, if I wake up early enough (rare) I'll curl it with a big iron. Moisturize head to toe, eyeliner, mascara, lipstick. 2 sprays of perfume on the neck and go

Lay out my outfits and jewelry the night before

Wash my hair every other day so sometimes it's pony tail/bun/braid

great. i used to do once a week beauty regimen: steam, face pack etc but stopped that for some reason. need to pick up again.

You use straight tea tree oil on your face, no chaser?

😱

*impressed*

I have a bottle that's cut with something else (like water maybe?),

because of its amazing healing properties, but I never thought

to use it to tone.

It's not too harsh?

the sound of oil on face scares me for some reason. screams acne, but maybe only if you have oily skin.

Oh no!! It's from the body shop. It's made into a foam. You squeeze it out of the bottle and its a foam. I think its meant to be a face wash, but i just rub the foam in and leave it. It really clears up my skin. Tea tree oil is way too harsh! I should have specified that. But I also use the oil for its healing properties.

I only wear it when I need to go out. we're going out to dinner tomorrow and to a special event, so i'm gonna wear some make up. Normally, not much but I love make up. I just hate putting it on. lol

I just wash face daily, and then later in the day maybe after a work out, or biking, or walking/hiking or gardening, i'll put on some toner, instead of washing my face. it's to clean the grime fron outside elements and from the gym ect.

Michelle Phan, a very popular make up artist, on youtube even has NATURAL make up look.

Ive been a huge fan of unconventional organic products, have been a big fan of Lush cosmetics for a long time.

I remove my makeup with a lush product called ultra bland, has oils and beeswax and is an ancient greek recipe, I smooth it over my face then I get a hot towel and wipe it off, the towel I use is a makeup eraser, they are a bit expensive but last forever, the ultrabland formula leaves your face plump and moisturized

I cleanse using a licorice charcoal cleanser, makes my face feel smooth and squeeky like a balloon

My shampoo and conditioner is by biologica and is all natural, I prefer to just use conditioner now and shampoo once a week

I also have a hemp oil shower gel..

For makeup I use Ben nye, makeup geek, makeup forever, mac, lime crime, illamasqua, morphie.

I use natural henna on my hair, clay from Morocco on my face, body and hair, and black seed oil and bso products

I have good skin so I rarely wear any makeup - I wear mascara and liner and lip moisturizer when I go out and to work - sometimes a little blush if I have a bad night and seem a bit paler than usual

at 58, people think I'm like 45 maybe. I have been lucky that way - not sure how long this will last but I'm going to rock it

A few people have mentioned going the natural route. Out of curiosity, anyone try dying with henna? Tried using the Lush stuff a decade ago, but gave up on it because it was so incredibly time consuming for no more results than I got. Would love to steer away from chemical dyes tho. Thoughts? Suggestions?
I've been using henna for about 15 years - love it ! did you see my post ?

Meant to tag you so you could fill me in on a brand. 😄

I have to use a very high percentage (strong) henna to cover the gray I have which is an awesome gray, I just wanted a change years ago and haven't looked back since. hennacat.com is where I started but the henna they were getting from Yemen is no longer available so I shopped and found another shop for yemen henna which I will try to find that and send to you when I can. The hennacat.com has the pdf that tells you all about how to do it and you might be able to use the lesser percentage of lawsone ingredient henna if you have no gray to cover. I also use indigo to lighten and darken when I want and I had gotten some cassis to give to my blond grayish girlfriend but she was never into doing the work herself. I can't afford hundreds of dollers every 6 weeks at the salon - plus I don't want chemicals so I do it myself for about $ 9 a box every 2 months or so. Can't beat that and everyone loves my hair at work and is jealous but doesn't want to do the work. I just don't get it but oh well. It's their loss right ! it gives my hair extreme color, volume and shine.

Thank you! The more info I have, the better.

Not opposed to putting in the work. With the Lush stuff, it comes in bricks. Was a real chore to grate it all down. Plus, with grays, it was more of a two step process. Using their Rouge to cover the gray and then the color you actually wanted, once everything was uniform. Screw that noise.

My gray's a great silver, but there's not enough of it to rock just yet. Hoping I live long enough to get to be a silver fox. Ha. In the meantime, I'm 36 and the Boy's 42. Can't have him strutting around town looking younger than I do. 😆

so wait and I'll get you the site for the yemen henna - actually I think there were 2 other sites but I have to check my stash and info at home to get my head screwed on straight - my gray sprouts off center and it's the side that I have long bangs so it looked good with the rest of my hair being so dark brunette almost black so I can and did rock that but the gray turns a reddish copper and blends oh so greatly with the real dark - it's awesome - the hennacat.com site is the most informative - I did my research - and geez, the work isn't all that ... I mix the henna powder with hot lemon or lime juice to the consistency of yogurt and let sit for 12 hours at 70 degrees; apply - the site can show you some of those tips - rubber gloves, brush, when my hair is real short I just like massage it in and you use less the shorter your hair. I cover with a plastic shower cap and wait 3 hours and then wash it all out - I've slept with it in also - the longer you can leave it in the better - that's right, the first time I did it I was at my friends house and immediately she said I looked 10 years younger - rock his world !

As I see quite a fair amount of natural / organic brands mentioned.

For make up products, if you could withstand the use of coconut oil as an ingredient.

I would highly recommend the incredible brand - RMS Beauty. The creator of the brand is a renown make up artist herself and her products are one of a kind. The quality is stunning and if you are looking for a natural highlighter, for a soft glow and not the spotlight look on the high points of ones face. Then look to her "Living Luminizer".

Another great brand, that is organic is - Ilia. The lipstick range and the blush/glow sticks are beautiful. The textures are really gorgeous as well. This brand does not make use of coconut oil, therefore this is an alternative.

For hair products, especially for those looking for natural, organic, or henna alternatives.

I would recommend looking into the NaturVital line for colour. They have a henna shampoo and conditioner combination that really leaves the hair glowing. It is highly affordable and it will extend your colour for a longer duration. I am quite sure they have a range of henna products, you simply have to do your research.

As for hair care, please look into GiovanniCosmetics. A very reasonable organic brand which features a tea tree shampoo for those who really enjoy an invigorating rinse. They have a great argan and olive oil line amongst others, deep conditioners and heat protectant spray and the likes. It is a detailed range of products for an affordable organic brand.

Phyto, without a doubt has the best natural hair dye to be found. It leaves the hair softer than ever before, and oh so shiny yet glossy to the point people may doubt you when you tell them that you had it just dyed. The colours, if you are one who desires a natural finish. They have a range, which really looks like your hair but your hair at it's best. Fret not, if you are wondering about their colour range, they do have a wide variety and the product smells wonderful.

For a general yet affordable organic line that offers everything from hair to body products to make up, please look into the brand called - NaturaSiberica.

In regards to their makeup, their blushes are stunning and leaves a natural finish whilst remaining pigmented. However, their hair treatments are just as wonderful. I will leave their page for you to browse through in case any of you may be interested.

http://www.naturasiberica.ru/en/

The above have been shared only because of my own personal experiences and the feedback from others whom I have recommended the same. If it should help or interest any of you, all the better. 🙂

[I forgot to mention for those who would love to splurge on somewhat luxury skincare facial products - Amala Beauty without a doubt is the standard. For nail polish that are as chemical free as could be - JINsoon, and the standards are high when it comes to this brand.]

Dear god, I could go on forever and more. 😐
