Why Leo men are more compatible with Cancer and Pisces women than Sagittarius.
I will have to disagree on this one. Also saying "Leos are the least fire of the fire signs" makes no sense if you know Leos and what the element of fire represents. The same could be true for Sags who have a lot of air qualities, but that would still not be accurate.

Leos are almost more of a controlled fire than an out there kind of fire. While an Aries will go into a situation blind and Sag will be "out there", Leos are more composed overall. I almost think that Leos are what a Scorpio would be if it was loud and lost its paranoia. Leos are almost an earth or water sign in a fire sign body.
I notice that they are the only fire sign to hold grudges and some astrology sources even claim that they share a co-rulership of Pluto with Scorpio, even having the planet exalted in their sign. Leos may just relate to water energy better.

Leo is a weird fire sign for sure. Sometimes the fire is lacking or it’s very constrained, contained. Some of the Leo guys definitely give water or earth sign vibes. Watery ones are sensitive and earthy ones are boring. I also think Leo men would go well with Scorpio women and Capricorn women.
Leo is very “my way or the highway” type of a person. Pisces and cancers are followers, sag is too wild and unruly. I’m a Gemini with lots of Leo planets (moon and mars) so I get Leo at the core level. But still, sometimes they are annoying with all that stubbornness and rigidness.click to expand

For one, the need to read a Cancer's emotions does not vibe with Leo. Reading a person's mind/emotions when they are upset is typically a water trait that fire signs generally do not have. Leos, and fire signs in general, respond to issues and feelings that are expressed clearly and directly. Many of the Cancers I have known have had trouble doing this. Likewise any form of passive aggressive or emotionally manipulative behavior is a great way to repel a Leo.
For example, I had a Cancer friend who would speak partial truths whenever she told a story about an issue she was facing. She would manipulate the story to appear more sympathetic by withholding the more important details. I would interject stating that she should not tell me anymore of her stories until she was prepared to be completely honest. I have even called out Cancers on these forums for doing the same thing.
Another trait Leos do not to understand is a Cancer's need to backpedal when confronted with someone's feelings for them. A Cancer's pattern of backing away, returning, and backing way again comes across as disingenuous.

I am always surprised when people say these type of things about crabs - that they lie or are passive-aggressive or manipulative
In regards to feelings expressed clearly and directly - i can see how a crab hide their emotions when in the getting to know you stage- cause it's a scary/tricky thing to expose your innermost thoughts- but I can also see how that would bother others - if the case is that they're in a relationship doing this- then they're just a hot mess and don't understand how communication really matters to strengthen relationships

That's my point. The backpedaling and inability to express one's own emotions directly can make a relationship with a Leo very difficult. In a Leo's mind a person is either in or out, it is not complicated. Also Leos respond to strength in a partner. In a Leo's mind, if a person is too afraid to be with the Leo, they will not be a faithful or worthwhile partner. They will become insecure or threatened by the Leo's life (friends, hobbies, goals, etc).
I disagree with the sentiment that Leos are repelled by Cancers due to them being so passive aggressive. Perhaps this is true but I think that water signs, at least Pisces and Cancers, are good at reading the emotions of others and reacting accordingly.
Like at my last job, we had a guy who was a Leo and in a team meeting, he was insulted by this one girl in a very direct way. The Sagittarius girl literally laughed at the insult and was the only one doing it. I notice that Sag women cannot read emotions and tend to have a tendency to kick people when they are down. It is no wonder a pairing between them and Leo men is so rare, they are likely to pour salt on the wound.

I would not take what women say they like at face value and I don't think Sag women are that into Cancer or water sign men, it is just that water sign men are more likely to take up the scraps. From my experience, Sag women most like air sign men and Aquas are their favorites with Libra not that far behind.
As bad of a pairing as I say it is, one night stands and flings between Sag women and Leo men are quite common. Long term relationships are rare but flings happen all the time, they seem to draw each other in initially.

sags are either too flighty or into experiments, i mean mutable and fire energy combined. either you admire it, and accept it or give up lol. tho i know enough sags that are in lterm rls, just leave them alone to do whatever. but they are completely loyal in the right circumstances.
leos are fixed so they need stability and reassurance that could come from water sings and/or air sings or placements to let them be, and tell them what they need to hear... so it makes sense.

Cancer, Pisces, and Sagittarius; all signs ruled by Jupiter. I have actually known far more Leo men with Cancer and Pisces women than Sag women, for real relationships that is. Even among celebs, I find it to be a much more common pairing, so why is that? I have a few reasons.
1. Cancer and Pisces women are more empathetic, given their water sign nature.
When someone is hurt and in a poor state, cancer and pieces women detect it. Water sign women, unless bad aspects, will never kick men when they are down and will joke carefully. In many ways, they are also just sweethearts who act very nice and sweet. Compare this to Sag women who don't exactly have empathy and will make jokes hurting people left to right, nothing more precious to a lion than his pride.
2. Water sign women are more loyal and channel the Jupiter energy better.
Sag women are known for getting around and cheating on their spouse, that is their stereotype. Leos do not tolerate sharing their woman at all, the lion is all about loyalty. Water sign women in general get that and are emotionally attached to their man. They know how their actions can hurt people while Sagittarius women are just more detached.
