Diesel is about £1.58 per litre in UK

I got told £1.61 near me. Definitely going up this year, but less so than I expected.

I reckon it will hit the 2 pound mark, can you imagine

I thought it would when there was a shortage last year.

That was just driver shortages and unnecessary panic buying

3/7/2022 $ 5.89 for diesel in Sacramento area

I really should have planned better bc it’s a historically expensive gas station, the closest one to my home. I only put $ 20 in bc I figure I’ll run into something cheaper around town to finish filling up. 13 gallon tank is expensive to fill! And my car likes to be full of gas. Which is counterintuitive for someone like me lol I’ve always been the type to ride it on E and only put in $ 5 at a time 😆

US officially banned Russian Oil Imports a few hours ago. This should get interesting.

The thing will be

We will get that 10 Percent covered through Mexico Canada ect but the prices won’t drop.

this market deals mostly in speculation. So if you just think real hard about a possible outcome that could raise the price, they will charge you for that thought.

You guys should start walking more

That's easier said than done. Larger cities have the infrastructure to walk but most of the country is not larger cities. I've spent the majority of my life in the midwest and there are places that still don't even have sidewalks.

Especially since I have to dive around 45 miles to work daily. The only saving grace for me is I can increase my installation price as the price of stuff goes up. That is a big perk of working in a trade as self-employed. I truly feel bad for people who have to travel the same, if not more daily to their job, but don't get a pay increase also.

You're all talking about this like it's a GOOD thing.......yall have NO idea what is coming next. When the digital ID is put in place worldwide, RIP humanity. If ONLY you knew what I know.

What do you know?

You know what's funny about all these mask mandates in the last few years.... considering how valuable facial recognition has been becoming, I was surprised how fast they gave that up. If I was the evil person in charge I'd be like "nah, you're good. Say cheese"

I paid 4.79/gal a couple of days ago Oregon.

I think Americans are spoiled.. I remember seeing outrageous amounts for gas in London decades ago.

I think its approx £6.40 per gallon there now...

Huh okay it was 1982 and all the cars were very very small and maybe $ 8 at the gas station? In the US it was $ 1.25 at the time of course a couple years later or so we had 21% interest rate and very high inflation and prices went up. Just something I’ve always thought back in my mind since we weren’t so concerned about car size and gas mileage at that time.

$ 4.79/gal last week when I filled up.

Biden wants us to buy electric cars. Too bad my electric company here in Ohio just raised the electricity prices by double?? What’s that going to do? Before gas prices and inflation went even more insane, like end of last year/beginning of this year, I read the avg electricity price to charge car was $ 55- $ 75/month. So what are we looking at now? $ 150 or so added onto your electric bill monthly no thanks. Not to mention can’t road-trip without charge. Not worth it currently.

Yup! They are going to make gas prices so high, that it pushes people to get electric cars, they they will start charging at the free store outlets, with the swipe of a credit card.

The world always finds new ways to make money off of consumers.

Electric cars is just going to be more expensive in the long run, with the way prices have inflated. LIKE HELL I am paying $ 150/month on top of my other doubled electricity prices. We are going to be looking at $ 400+ bills during the summer and winter as is. But hey, electric cars were the better, green option right! I think electric companies are doubling/kWh because they know people are shifting to this mindset. Anything they can do to sap every possible cent out of people. This world repulses me.

A lot of them run on batteries too.

Who knows how long they really last without having to need a new one, usually about 10k + for a replacement, or having to buy a new car.

Electric cars are not for the long haul. Gone will be the days that a car sits around for 20-25 years and still works.

I wish I could bike everywhere.

For all the talk about electric cars....

You all do realize they essentially run on coal/natural gas, right?

Wind and solar don't produce enough kW (in the US) to meet energy demands even without a big increase in electric car use.

And the rare earths needed for Li-Ion batteries are mined in a less than environmentally friendly manner than you might think.

Old pressure based nuclear reactors are also being retired (most recently Palisades in Michigan). Now the molten salt/thorium technology is available, but imagine all the stupid woke hoops put in the way to allow them to be built.

Don't get me wrong. If I could do the initial investment, I'd put in a solar electric with geothermal hvac on the house, but in a colder climate it still needs auxiliary heat for backup that still requires the grid.

Enjoy your Summer!

What are you paying there @hypnotoad. I think you guys are the highest… heard it was around $ 3.20 for unleaded

Idk what the number is, costs $ 140 to fill my lux which is $ 60 a week more than before. Wtf is it so much more over here for, stupid country.

$ 140 pw— 😳 your dollar must be weak again.

That’s only $ 2.80 on a 50 litre tank

About that, that's diesel. If I completly drained the tank it'd cost 200 to fill it. NZ is just getting fucked by corperates thats why, more important to PM to keep the tourists out a whole year longer than needed and then piss off to USA to bath in liberal adoration while the place turns to shit.

I don’t believe in blaming the PM, we had the same thing happen here and every country in the world. No one knew what to do with this pandemic, I mean who could know—. PM’s do not make decisions alone, they have to face the people with the parties decisions. Auss just got rid of their PM and things are getting worse everyday. The same will happen when you ditch Jacinda.
