@DonumDei

There are so many inspiring things about the owl gif, so thank you again for posting it. 🙂

So we're both surrounded by snow. I wish you all the best with the shoveling. I wish show could shovel itself.

Thank you very much for the thanks! I will do my best to keep up with the contributions. I try to get one gif up daily on the front page, and lately it's been 2, often. Then I can archive here and add extras which is nice. Some gifs don't work well on the front page due to size, etc.

You're welcome! And thank you -- that is very nice to read!

You're beautiful (it's great to see your picture lately) and your personality seems so as well from your posts. 🙂 Great user name, too. It's good to see another fellow Scorp on DXP who shows the positives of the sign.

Years ago, Canadian-Trinidadian artist Talwst (née Curtis Santiago) was challenged by a Parisian flea market vendor to transform an old ring box into a piece of art. According to The Guardian, Talwst fashioned a tiny diorama of a woman bathing in the ocean. This work inspired him to create an ongoing series of small-scale landscapes inside reclaimed jewelry cases.

Talwst collects the discarded boxes from fans, antique stores, and online marketplaces. The CBC writes that his minute scenes are inspired by pop culture, current events, and art history, as well as his own memories. Check out a few of Talwst's fanciful creations below, or visit his website and Instagram account for more information on the Toronto-based mixed media artist.

Thank you so much for posting this! That is fine work -- I want one. 🙂

If you end up making something like it, I'd love to see pictures!

It's hard to decide which one I'd choose, but probably the one with the horse and wagon. Which one would you pick?

@tiziani That is an intriguing quote, and I haven't seen the film it's from (perhaps adapted from a book?) so now I am curious.
It's from Cormac McCarthy - The Counsellor. In all honesty I think it's a really bad film by any standard, but it's also very rewarding and not in an ironic sense. It's just tough to watch. But I bought the screenplay yesterday to understand it better.

Thanks! I watched the trailer earlier to get an idea, and I can see what you mean even from that (bad film yet rewarding), so that's interesting. By tough to watch, do you mean because of flaws or that it's disturbing?

@tiziani

I'm very curious about this film now, so definitely I can time it when I'm in a mood like that, haha. Some kind of redemption is shown so often in films depicting a fall, so it will be interesting and disturbing (but perhaps more realistic) to see the lack of it.

The quote, and how you described it, is making me reflect -- and that's very good, so thank you. 🙂 There's something to it for sure that I'm going to try to understand in myself, if I can. It's a strange thing to know what it means to me, yet not, at the same time after reading it.

I wonder if my premonition will go away, like yours did. Thanks for commenting on this! I have a friend who thought he would die in his 30s. His premonition started in his teen years. After he passed the critical age, his premonition didn't get moved into the future, it just stopped. Going over things with him, he realized that he made some changes in his late 20s, that in a way were like death (ending things that he needed to end). So maybe his premonition was about that, rather than physical death. Maybe that explains yours? Maybe it will explain mine too.

I want to know more about what you observed when you worked in watches. Watches have always really interested me, but I haven't worn a watch for close to a decade. I guess I worry about being too aware of time if it's attached to my body -- aware of every minute, so time will seem to slow down, or speed up, too much as a result thanks to the frequent checking I would likely do.

Thank you for what you wrote about my eye for decor. I like the way that you phrased that. It too is giving me something to think about.

I'm really glad that you like this one! I didn't notice the other bunnies at first either -- they were a fun surprise to discover.

Thank you very much! I think the same of you. I always enjoy interacting when we do, including the alphabet slang game we played with @palerio for a while. 🙂

Okay, good. I will reflect and get back to you. 🙂

Oh, that is a wonderful suggestion with the GMT watch or moon phase watch! Thank you. In fact, when I look at watches online, I'm usually drawn to watches like that.

I ruminate when stressed about certain things, and too much of that can be a problem so I've been working on that in part with cognitive therapy. Trusting intuition - yes, that can really serve me well and action can be swifter as a result. So, those quotes are helpful to me as well. 🙂

Funny, the person who thought he'd die in his 30s had to do the opposite - he was too much in action mode in his 20s, not reflecting enough. So that was part of what he changed. But, unfortunately, he never fully trusted his intuition and that gets him into trouble to this day.
