If it weren't for free speech then I wouldn't know who my enemies were, and that wouldn't be very exciting.![]()

Just let me get this out before you type. I can hear faces smacking into keyboards already.
Free speech is one of the biggest flaws in most society's, especially in USA. There was a time free speech was fine, back when people actually had sense. But now its out of control. I know there are also a ton of flaws by eliminating free speech, which I'll try to get to.
With this type of freedom you get people like those who believe the earth is flat, people who think they are victims, and people who want to protest ridiculous ideas and opinions that make no fucking sense. To the point normal citizens want to literally snap and run them over. People can openly play the "Down on my luck" card and complain that everyone else needs to change rather then look themselves in the mirror and ask what they can do to change themselves. Then convince hundreds of other people they need to complain too rather then trying to convince people to actually do something with their lives. It's always someone elses fault right? It wasn't you. You didn't sit there for 10 years and cry about your shitty life. Everyone else "forced" you to fail yourself.
This is a huge problem in human progression. I also understand the idea of taking away free speech is just as crazy. It will just lead to the same types of problems, but on the other side of the spectrum. Now you have hundreds of people truly oppressed from venting pent up feelings, and the fact they can't speak will make them lash out in violence due to no outlet.
So where is the middle ground? We can't just continue to let people speak idiotic ideas that others may think are fact, thus killing their inner drive and willpower to progress. I see too many people say something like "You are a black America, and because you that you are powerless. You will never have control over your life, and will never be anything." So rather then actually try, just blame everyone else and continue to fail." The worst part is its people that think they are actually doing a good thing telling mass amounts of people this. Yet at the same time we can't just silence people with deep personal problems. So what do we do? Genocide aside.

you mistyped democracy
Democracy mistyped flawed.
I'm open to other ways of looking at it though. Personally I feel you can't have a positive without negatives, and vice versa. I just want to become more open to a middle ground.click to expand

Religious ideology is a far greater threat to humans than free speech.
Resource depletion and environmental degradation will end humanity long before anything else.

This is exactly how Trump feels
Wouldn't this be the opposite of how trump feels? Wouldn't he rather say crazy opinionated stuff to people, and tweet crazy stuff just as much?

Free speech is the end of humanity?
Try telling that to thousands of kids who were abused by Catholic Priests and had to keep their mouths shut or they would "go to hell"... and thousands of women who felt dumbed down after being raped because they feared not being believed...
It's a gift....and one that should always have been available to everyone
