Sometimes I wish I were taller.
It's probably due to a fascination with the number 19. My birthdate is 19th/1990 so I secretely wish I were at least 190cm.
My old cellphone number also had a double 19 in it.
Ever heard of Daniel Tammet?

That's incredible with Tammet's ability to learn Icelandic! I've read about ways to speed up language learning but not that fast. He is beyond brilliant.
My father is genius level intelligent, but nowhere near Tammet (few are of course) but when he would study in university he could take a page of text in at a time into his mind, and recall what was on any given page when exam time came. He also had a three-way attention span, so he could read, listen to someone talking on the radio and follow a conversation going on beside him at the same time.click to expand

Posted by CopperDoveI haven't looked into Etsy for clothing before, but i'll check it out 🙂Posted by SkittyWell described!
I'm 4'10... i'd share my weight but people tend to freak and think i have some eating disorder, even tho i'm within my bmi.
The only upside is fitting into small places, and not hitting my head on shit.
Lots of negatives..Getting picked on relentlessly in school, not being picked for teams, constantly feeling like i had to prove myself physically to be accepted.
Always thinking any person attracted to me is also a pedophile. ha. Shopping in juniors at 30 because petite clothing looks like shit my elementary school teachers would wear. Um, not having big tits...there is probley more but i just woke up. lol
So idk as i have gotten older i don't get as pissed at retarded comments...but i've come to terms with it. My boyfriend is 6'5, and he is the only person i've dated that treated me as an equal and doesn't try to baby me.- I think if your an extreme in any direction- skinny vs fat- tall- vs short, your going to be a target for criticism, and judgement.
It can be hard with the negatives.
One guy that I was friend with said that petite women he had known were usually very energetic and feistier than average to compensate but I haven't seen that with all of the petites I've known. Have you?
Same with my weight. I'm ~ 95 lbs. People aren't used to scaling down for small size and in my case finer bones.
I'm having an easier time finding attractive non-matronly or kiddy petite clothing than I used to. I have had things custom made for me by people who sell their designs on Etsy.com because most of them don't charge more to change the fit of the clothes that they make to suit different sizes.
Great point about being extreme in any direction and being a target. Cool that you are with someone who understands that first-hand!

I'm petite (just under 5'1 and slender), and for the most part don't mind even though there can be drawbacks at times.
Curious what others think of their height.

You probably have an easier time finding clothes that fit than me. 🙂 You're the size that the petite clothing market seems to cater to the most. Petite pants and skirts are usually 2" too long on me so they have to be hemmed.

5'9" which is tall for a woman
Pros: I can reach things on the top shelf, I appear more confident and intimidating than I actually am, my legs are smoking
Cons: I feel like Godzilla next to my short friends, it's hard to buy pants, miniskirts make me look like a hooker.

My mom, aunts, cousins and both grandmothers were/are teeny tiny 5 foot and 90 lbs and I was always 5'9 145lbs. I used to feel so uncomfortable walking in public with them, especially during those gawky teen years. I am even taller than all the men on my father's side.

Posted by Deedee86That's great about your mom. I had a female friend who was close to 5'10, and she felt very awkward during her teen years, then later she felt confident but she was hesitant to wear heels because she didn't want to appear to be taller than the men she dated (who usually were close to her height).Posted by LunabeePosted by Deedee86

Posted by LunabeeYeah I know eating less won't change it. But that's the weight I want to stay it. Putting on weight isn't a problem for me at all trust me lol(or so I think). I have to be pretty conscious about what I take in to maintain this. I'm super conscious n very aware of every little thing I eat. I was around 143 or so when I was 16. When I started putting down weight, health was never my concern. It was all about turning skinny. I was into crash diets n stuff. That changed eventually. I try balancing both .. I'm still a tad guilty of being more weight conscious than health conscious..but I'm ok. I can't afford to put on more than my preferred limit after I know all that struggle. Not going there again ..ever.Posted by TeenaThat's skinny IMO. You can only accentuate your natural bone structure, eating less won't change that. Shoulders? Though I suppose it depends how wide your hands are apart, if you can't do them wide them do them with your hands centred and you'll know if you feel any different pushing up from a different muscle group
