Sometimes I wish I were taller.
How tall do you sometimes wish you were, and why?
About an inch and half taller, no specific reason though.

It's probably due to a fascination with the number 19. My birthdate is 19th/1990 so I secretely wish I were at least 190cm.

My old cellphone number also had a double 19 in it.
I can understand that because I'm interested in numbers too, and studied different systems of numerology. 19 is a good number. 🙂

Ever heard of Daniel Tammet?

Yes! Fascinating guy. I've watched several interviews with him. Do you have that kind of thing happen to you?

No, but I do think certain numbers have shapes, like the 19 in my case.

Numbers aside, the most fascinating thing about him was when he learnt Icelandic in a week and spoke fluently for a couple of hours on national tv immediately after...

A FUCKing week to learn Icelandic!

Just unfair.

What kind of shape do you associate with 19?

That's incredible with Tammet's ability to learn Icelandic! I've read about ways to speed up language learning but not that fast. He is beyond brilliant.

My father is genius level intelligent, but nowhere near Tammet (few are of course) but when he would study in university he could take a page of text in at a time into his mind, and recall what was on any given page when exam time came. He also had a three-way attention span, so he could read, listen to someone talking on the radio and follow a conversation going on beside him at the same time.

Too complex of a shape to be able to describe it, easier if I draw it.

It's also fascinating that all those geniuses seem to have some sort of austic disorder, Stephen Wiltshire, aka The Human Camera, is another one with the Savant Syndrome and he's sick too.

I'm 4'10... i'd share my weight but people tend to freak and think i have some eating disorder, even tho i'm within my bmi.

The only upside is fitting into small places, and not hitting my head on shit.

Lots of negatives..Getting picked on relentlessly in school, not being picked for teams, constantly feeling like i had to prove myself physically to be accepted.
Always thinking any person attracted to me is also a pedophile. ha. Shopping in juniors at 30 because petite clothing looks like shit my elementary school teachers would wear. Um, not having big tits...there is probley more but i just woke up. lol

So idk as i have gotten older i don't get as pissed at retarded comments...but i've come to terms with it. My boyfriend is 6'5, and he is the only person i've dated that treated me as an equal and doesn't try to baby me.- I think if your an extreme in any direction- skinny vs fat- tall- vs short, your going to be a target for criticism, and judgement.

Well described!

It can be hard with the negatives.

One guy that I was friend with said that petite women he had known were usually very energetic and feistier than average to compensate but I haven't seen that with all of the petites I've known. Have you?

Same with my weight. I'm ~ 95 lbs. People aren't used to scaling down for small size and in my case finer bones.

I'm having an easier time finding attractive non-matronly or kiddy petite clothing than I used to. I have had things custom made for me by people who sell their designs on Etsy.com because most of them don't charge more to change the fit of the clothes that they make to suit different sizes.

Great point about being extreme in any direction and being a target. Cool that you are with someone who understands that first-hand!

I haven't looked into Etsy for clothing before, but i'll check it out 🙂

I mostly struggle with tops and dresses. I get my pants from abercrombie- They have "short sizes" which takes two itches off the hemline. Crop tops becoming popular was also amazing- as they fit me like a normal top should :p

That's a really interesting opinion your friend made. Overly aggressive as compensation for something that you feel as tho you lack... I would be lying if i said i didn't think i had the slightest of of Napoleon complex's. :p

To bring astrology into this- What i've found odd is that my friends with the most feminine placements tend to be quite large. Not only in terms of height, but just in overall girth. I have mostly masculine, and aggressive placements and im brokenly small.

I swear, It's like a universal troll. lol

@Skitty Good to know about Ambercrombie! I'm Canadian so I would have to order from them across the border, but I've done that before with many things. Currently the exchange rate is awful but hopefully that will improve so I can place US orders again.

Same with being happy that crop tops are popular. 🙂

I probably have that overcompensation going too at times to avoid being labelled cute too much.

That's interesting with the feminine placements and size. I've sometimes noticed that too. Mine are a mix, AFAIK, and I think that shows in my features.

I hope you won't continue to see yourself as "brokenly" small!

lol for universal troll.

If you ever draw your perception of 19, I'd like to see it!

True about the link with autism and that kind of genius. So there's a downside for sure.

My dad is Aqua Pisces cusp sun and Pisces Mercury.
I'll send it to you when I draw it.

Ah...my father is Aqua sun/Pisces mercury too 🙂

Cool about our fathers having that in common. What is your father's moon? My father has Leo moon.

Nah but I really am 6'2 and giant
how tall is your girl?

me 5' 1" on good day.. him 6'6" lolol
That's a fun contrast. Tallest I've dated so far was a bit over 6'4.
lol the looks from others is hysterical....

I have always prefered 6" +
haha, I can imagine! 🙂 I haven't had a preference, and have dated men from 5'4 to just over 6'4, but my 5'2 sister always preferred 6' and over and dated basketball players in high school.

I'm petite (just under 5'1 and slender), and for the most part don't mind even though there can be drawbacks at times.

Curious what others think of their height.
I'm 5'3" athletic though. I secretly wish I was your height or at least shorter. I like feeling petite.

You probably have an easier time finding clothes that fit than me. 🙂 You're the size that the petite clothing market seems to cater to the most. Petite pants and skirts are usually 2" too long on me so they have to be hemmed.

I like feeling petite too...not by being shorter...But by having not-so-huge bones. I've been maintaining weight around 116lbs since years n for 5'6 it's not even much. It's not about weight or height.. I always wanted more petite bone structure.

That's skinny IMO. You can only accentuate your natural bone structure, eating less won't change that. Strong bone structure= strength.

5'9" which is tall for a woman

Pros: I can reach things on the top shelf, I appear more confident and intimidating than I actually am, my legs are smoking

Cons: I feel like Godzilla next to my short friends, it's hard to buy pants, miniskirts make me look like a hooker.

My mom is 5'9" she wears a size 10. She doesn't mind her height, she wears heels today in her 50's.

That's great about your mom. I had a female friend who was close to 5'10, and she felt very awkward during her teen years, then later she felt confident but she was hesitant to wear heels because she didn't want to appear to be taller than the men she dated (who usually were close to her height).

My mother, sister, and both of my grandmothers are/were petite (5'2 and under) but on my mother's side of the family, there are/were some tall women, including one of my great aunts who was close to 6'.

Yeah I know eating less won't change it. But that's the weight I want to stay it. Putting on weight isn't a problem for me at all trust me lol(or so I think). I have to be pretty conscious about what I take in to maintain this. I'm super conscious n very aware of every little thing I eat. I was around 143 or so when I was 16. When I started putting down weight, health was never my concern. It was all about turning skinny. I was into crash diets n stuff. That changed eventually. I try balancing both .. I'm still a tad guilty of being more weight conscious than health conscious..but I'm ok. I can't afford to put on more than my preferred limit after I know all that struggle. Not going there again ..ever.

Shoulders? Though I suppose it depends how wide your hands are apart, if you can't do them wide them do them with your hands centred and you'll know if you feel any different pushing up from a different muscle group
