What do you do for a living?

I operate a large pipeline control board and a one of a kind Oxygen Removal Unit.
That sounds interesting. Why are you removing oxygen?

I work in risk management. We develop risk management software for onshore, offshore and process industries. RAM analysis. Electric grid reliability and performance etc etc. But that's just our Business area within the company I work for.

I split the O2 from the Natural Gasoline because the oxygen causes corrosion in the pipeline and storage tanks. Pipeline integrity is very important and my company has decided to take the initiative to do something about it.

Most of the offshore companies are on the west side. All the production/onshore units are on the south and east.

I own a tax prep/bookkeeping company. 90% of my work is Jan -April. I also work at a casino seasonally from End of April-early November.

Tax prep is way more money but casino is way more fun

I work with the money so I pay the big jackpots and make bank deposits. The customers I deal with are usually happy. We are smaller but there is a huge casino a few miles away that has a lot of suicides. I know one of the security guys and he said that one a weekend is standard. Usually in the car but a few have jumped.

that is sad.

shouldn't the company note this after so many suicides and have a prevention going on? there should be some policy that prevents this kind of horrible thing.

Our casino is state regulated. All employees from the top management to the dishwashers have to take a course yearly to recognize problem gambling. We have banned people in the past. I never have had to personally but I did talk to one elderly woman and have her the hotline number.

The casino with the suicide problem is native run. I'm not sure what kind of policies they adhere to but I'm sure there is something in place. It's a very large resort and one of the top ten in the world.

As much as I like to tell y'all what I do, and it's not for a living rather it's for me personally. I'm secretive about stuff like this.
Go blow a goat. You always wanna know all this personal stuff about people but offer nothing yourself. Either contribute or GTFOH
Well gee. Sounds like someone's on their man period this morning. First of all.... hi.

Second.. you sound pissed that y'all have to get out there and work for a living. I done did mines.

Last but not least, let me clarify that what you just said, sir. I don't want to know nothing about nobody's personal business. I could care less about people in general. Get that so far? When I make post pics of yourself threads it's just for gags. I would never in a million years to come tell anybody here to post their pics. I respect everyone's privacy and would expect everyone to respect mines. I give people options. And they don't have to do what I say. No you wrong. I don't always wanna know all this personal stuff about people as you put it. Like I said I give options to whether they WANT me to know anything about them. And I never once made a thread wanting to know what y'all do for a living cuz that's not none of my business.

You always make posts about people showing their face or whatnot. Either comment on what you do or get off the thread. Geez

I wanted to refrain in saying it, but in Deedee's case, I find it really terrible that the company doesn't do anything to create a Prevention suicide after so many deaths. if even the bosses don't care about human lives, they seem to care more about killing off their business. That's not good business.
You have a good point. I have to defend my place because I have never heard of a suicide on our property and the state does have a program but I'm sure you are talking about the gambling business as a whole. Gambling is supposed to be a form of entertainment but there are a small percentage of people that get carried away. I don't think it can be contained just to one region, it is definitely a worldwide problem. Most US states have an 800 number that people can call for help but that is strictly voluntary. Aside from that, what else can be done? How can you spot someone with a problem especially if you work in a big casino or a large gambling town, like Vegas, where one person can just be hopping from place to place. When I see someone playing a slot machine I don't know if they are gambling their rent money or still on their free play.

I think a good start would be to allow doctors the authority to ban people. It gives family members a chance to spot and report gambling addiction and try and help. They can contact the doctor and the doctor can determine if it fits the criteria of addiction.

Least your honest. I can respect that. The place was a mess, obvously. Still lots of work to be done, but it was my first time ever laying time around a window which is much harder than it looks. My friend loved it, so the job is special to me in ways. Regaurdless of how much hell I went through helping him renovate that bathroom.

Now I could see that bathroom was special to you, because you actually put an explanation to the image and went into details about it.

Otherwise -

Respect what? Leave it, I do not need it.

You instantly took insult to a picture in which you posted without any explanation attached to it. When someone responds to it as it was (just a picture) with an observation you go all out and attack.

Do you not have better things to do than attack someone who never really ever interacted with you in the first place, much less insult you.

We got into it before about something, likely just as stupid. So when I see your quote on my post I expect you to be insulting me, because that's the only time you ever quote me. I don't really like you. I don't hate you, but I expect the worst from you. Maybe a bit less after your last post.

At the same time I can't really expect you to magically know where I'm coming from, or expect you to know what will or won't trigger me so sorry for that I guess.

@Soul so you might know this then...is there an easier way to remove old caulk other than old fashioned elbow grease?
The easiest thing in my opinion is a razor blade scraper. I like to take the blade out of the scraper and just use that. Be careful not to scratch the tub. Even if you do though they make repair kits for scratched and damaged tubs.

I thought I had read something about mineral spirits? Or maybe that to prep for new caulk?

I'm sure it would work if the container says it will. Normally we don't deal with jobs that have heavy caulking removal. Not too sure what my friend did to remove his from that tub. I did his whole job for like 600 $ , anyone else would have charged well over 1000. He just wanted me to lay the tile nothing more, so not too sure what he did after that. If we run into an issue where caulk needs removed we just use a sharp blade.
