Posted by hydorahYeah that wasn't good. Secret life of pets was way better though.
Independance day 2
I don't know what to think, it was not bad but pretty useless. Pretty much a carbon copy of the first one. with way too many actors brought back.

Posted by hydorahI vaguely remember this one but I recall it was like a cross between Bond and Batman with a deeply nihilistic tone like most of Mario Bava's stuff. Will definitely revisit one day when I have a sore throat and nothing better to do
Danger Diabolik (Mario Bava, 1968)
Some baby boomer asshole steals all kind of things, has extravagant sex with his abusive cancer wife in a psychedelic underground death star, and is generally a douchebag but gets away with everything.
Gave me mild PTSD.

Posted by hydorahDude wears a mask, lives in a cave, has all them fancy gadgets... kinda made me think of an immoral Batman, while the overall tone of the film is that of a Bond romp. I thought it was pretty coolPosted by enfant_terriblePosted by hydorahI vaguely remember this one but I recall it was like a cross between Bond and Batman with a deeply nihilistic tone like most of Mario Bava's stuff. I wouldn't compare it to batman, he's just a thief and a douchebag. I think this movie is just part of the baby boomers' celebration of incivility and flipping off the establishment as a form of glamorous life for the rebelious youth, like the first pink panther movie or all the other heist movies shot in that time.
you have to give one thing to the movie though, it's a lot more spectacular than the bond movies of the same era.

Posted by Kjk62Don't worry I think the younger generations are capable of reding the original dante's inferno just fine, like all the generations that did since the book was released 700+ years ago.Posted by hydorah
As Above So Below:
Very mediocre shaky-cam found-footage jump-scare formula. I found it worse than Blair witch 2. Except it was hyped like hell over the internet, which means bad X 2.
He Said, She Said
1991 rom-com with a twist. The movie is too long and some scenes are unnecessary and boring, but other times the gimmick works rather well. The early 90s fashion and hair is classy and lovely to watch and it's also nice to see people living like in the old times without cellphones and the internet to wear them out.
As above so below wasnt terrible. Nice attempt to teach younger generations dante's inferno

Posted by dolluxeI watched Train to Busan the other day and I absolutely agree. Imagine fighting zombies without proper weapons, guns and sharp blades.
Lights out - It's so and so
Train to Busan - One of the few Asian Zombie flicks I like
Ant-Man - I've seen it a dozen times. Love love love
The Godfather Part II - Cause De Niro was a badass young Vito Corleone. Also, The Godfather Trilogy is my all-time fave 🙂

Posted by Prince_PiscesI remember that one kinda kicking ass as far as old-school 80's action romps go. Released in 1990 it's probably the very last one of its kind![]()
I still need to sit down and figure out why I chose to watch it in the first place.

Posted by Prince_PiscesDisobedient gangbangers literally getting spanked in front of the whole class... the douchy gym teacher beating the shit out of his students in gym class lol. Not to mention the ultimate dream of every kid to wage war on their teachers. It just plays with all these ideas.
I kinda just thought it was stupid LOL! It felt like a bunch of 15 year olds wrote it or something.

Posted by UnwordingThe discussion Clive Owen has with Jude Law in his office about a woman's heart was just..oh man. What a man.![]()
No critique; just sadness and Damien Rice.
Don't do it.

And the ending...
And so it is
Just like you said it would be
Life goes easy on me
Most of the time
And so it is
The shorter story
No love, no glory
No hero in her sky
I should rewatch it....

Posted by cheekyfaerieI watched the trailer and it seems like the whole story is in the trailer and the story looks a bit banal.
Arrival.
So good.

Silence:
Niche film, not everyone will appreciate it. If you can survive the first hour, it is well worth it. Andrew Garfield is the highlight of the film. Would recommend if you are into films that have emotional meaning.

The special effects were top gun when the movie was released but they look a bit futile nowadays.
