"So you’re telling me you made a porno where the plot is the point?"

"- Dad, there’s like w-hores here and stuff.

- Sweetheart, how many times have I told you? Don’t say “and stuff”, just say, “Dad, there are w-hores here.”

"- Tally, this is not you. You're not a murderer.”

"- She just said she killed three people.”

"- I know, but I'm saying, deep down.”

Probably the longest awaited release for me this year cuz I'm a sucker for these modern 1970's retrospectives. They even included Warner Bros.' old logo! *jizzes* Altough well-made I was slightly underwhelmed as it felt like a copy/paste job as far as the plot (developement) goes but it had quite a few hilarious moments... the deadpan humor and Crowe/Gosling were just what the doctor prescribed.

Danger Diabolik (Mario Bava, 1968)

Some baby boomer asshole steals all kind of things, has extravagant sex with his abusive cancer wife in a psychedelic underground death star, and is generally a douchebag but gets away with everything.

Gave me mild PTSD.
I vaguely remember this one but I recall it was like a cross between Bond and Batman with a deeply nihilistic tone like most of Mario Bava's stuff. Will definitely revisit one day when I have a sore throat and nothing better to do

I wouldn't compare it to batman, he's just a thief and a douchebag. I think this movie is just part of the baby boomers' celebration of incivility and flipping off the establishment as a form of glamorous life for the rebelious youth, like the first pink panther movie or all the other heist movies shot in that time.

you have to give one thing to the movie though, it's a lot more spectacular than the bond movies of the same era.

Dude wears a mask, lives in a cave, has all them fancy gadgets... kinda made me think of an immoral Batman, while the overall tone of the film is that of a Bond romp. I thought it was pretty cool

Star Trek Beyond

This was really bad, probably the worst star trek movie I have ever seen

Every action sequence is an inscrutable CGI vomit, the scenario is dumber than a cartoon and

nothing is believable or coherent at all.

It was definitely worse than star trek Insurrection, and probably even worse than Star trek V, the worst star trek in history.

Mad max Fury Road:

The vehicular scenes are incredibly good, but all the rest is mediocre at best.

The morale is wrong, hardy has the charisma of a wet towel, and the whole movie is futile in our current culture of videogames and hopelessness.

Captain Walker should have been left to the sands and they should have went with totally new characters, I don't see the point of resurrecting the character again.

The Lords of Salem:

This could have been great. The first part has a very good cinematography and ambiance, reminiscent of a john Carpenter movie.

Unfortunately, the grotesque progressively takes center stage and the ending is spoiled with a lot of sutpid plastic creatures.

This would have been a nice movie in the vein of Rosemary's Baby or The Lord Of Darkness, without the unnecessary effects.

As Above So Below:

Very mediocre shaky-cam found-footage jump-scare formula. I found it worse than Blair witch 2. Except it was hyped like hell over the internet, which means bad X 2.

He Said, She Said

1991 rom-com with a twist. The movie is too long and some scenes are unnecessary and boring, but other times the gimmick works rather well. The early 90s fashion and hair is classy and lovely to watch and it's also nice to see people living like in the old times without cellphones and the internet to wear them out.

Don't worry I think the younger generations are capable of reding the original dante's inferno just fine, like all the generations that did since the book was released 700+ years ago.

Lights out - It's so and so

Train to Busan - One of the few Asian Zombie flicks I like

Ant-Man - I've seen it a dozen times. Love love love

The Godfather Part II - Cause De Niro was a badass young Vito Corleone. Also, The Godfather Trilogy is my all-time fave 🙂
I watched Train to Busan the other day and I absolutely agree. Imagine fighting zombies without proper weapons, guns and sharp blades.

The animated prequel is coming out soon.

I kinda just thought it was stupid LOL! It felt like a bunch of 15 year olds wrote it or something.

Disobedient gangbangers literally getting spanked in front of the whole class... the douchy gym teacher beating the shit out of his students in gym class lol. Not to mention the ultimate dream of every kid to wage war on their teachers. It just plays with all these ideas.

They really milked the story for all it got, in a B cult-movie kinda way.

No critique; just sadness and Damien Rice.

Don't do it.
The discussion Clive Owen has with Jude Law in his office about a woman's heart was just..oh man. What a man.

And the ending...

And so it is

Just like you said it would be

Life goes easy on me

Most of the time

And so it is

The shorter story

No love, no glory

No hero in her sky

I should rewatch it....

clue(1985)

wow, wtf, I think this is one of the worst movies I've ever seen, how did this happen?

Miss Mend(1926):

Wow this movie pushes all my buttons!

I'm a fan of everything from the 1920s. This silent, 4 hours long, 3-parts, soviet propaganda movie has got everything: slapstick , horses, trains, automobiles and boat chases, evil mad scientist/hypnotiser/industrialist bad guy, 20s girls with wavy bob haircuts getting abducted, factory strikes, high sea exotism, etc, etc...

not for everybody probably

Bunch of movies I saw in the plane:

SUICIDE SQUAD: It was okay. Stupid, but the stupidity was assumed.

I found it more interesting than the avnger movies or the batman movies.

Midnight special: It was done well enough that it kept my attention, but the story wasn't really interesting and the ending was dumb. I suspect it would appeal to religious people.

The infiltrator: this movie suffers from casting too many trending actors, each one trying to be cool. Not enough period music. It made me want to read the book tho.

Elle (2016)

Was pretty excited about Paul Verhoeven's return to the directing chair which could might aswell have been titled The Pianist 2 since it's yet another one of Isabelle Hubbert's sociopathic performances as a victim/aggressor of (sexual) abuse. Not sure if it's a thriller, drama or black comedy but I suppose it's slightly more skewed than your average french relationship-movie.

Silence:

Niche film, not everyone will appreciate it. If you can survive the first hour, it is well worth it. Andrew Garfield is the highlight of the film. Would recommend if you are into films that have emotional meaning.

I would so watch this over the stupid Xxx Zander Cage movie someone wants to invite me to. There's nothing worthy in theaters anymore
