Someone eats your food...

How do you react? Are there ground rules to these types of things, esp in a roommate situation. Would you share everything with a roommate or nothing? Would you rather they ask before taking or just have them offer to replace it? Is their act of taking food a silent gesture of warfare? 😅 I'm just kidding but honestly.. i think it's polite to ask.

My stank-ass Libra sister did that to me years ago when she bunked with me for like 3 months. She was secretly saving her money for a plane ticket, and was spending mine AND eating my food and never once bought any herself. All the while fobbing me off with promises of "I'll pay you back next week". A week became 2 weeks, 2 weeks became a month, and 3 months later when she took off like a thief in the night without even telling me, I still hadn't seen a single dollar from her.

A year later she showed up at my doorstep in the middle of the night grinning like the village idiot, expecting me to let her back in. Naturally, my reaction:





In that order. And that was the last time I ever saw her, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Leeches are not welcome in my life. And neither are Libras. Fucking weasely cowards.

that shit is serious. it's up there with don't hassle me when i am eating and (if my food comes first) your food better come quick because there is only so long i will wait out of politeness.

lol I know that's right - and don't get in my way when I'm hungry and going for food cause I only have a one track mind at that point - I get very grouchy when I'm hungry lol

yes the hanger is real. at times the bull now just looks at me and say "you need to eat don't you?"

you don't mess with someone's eating.

When I lived with people the agreement was you could use any of the ingredients just replace if you use the last. Like if you need a splash of milk or butter go crazy. Just leave me something so I can cook as well without having to replace my shit.

And then of course buy more of whatever you took next time you go to the store.

It worked out really well. And we were all considerate, I'm headed to the store you need anything? Yeah here's $ 5 get me some bananas type vibe.

But when it comes to things like cooked food, deserts, specialty items it was hands off. Or ask me first.

No one touches my food or my drinks.

I've always told any roomies I've had that it's fine you eat some of my food here and there but to give me a heads up so that I know if I need to get more or not. If they just go and start eating all my shiz then I say something like "hey, I don't mind if you continue to eat this stuff but pay up buttercup".. knock on wood, never have had issues beyond that. I think I'd probably get bitchy if it did - i'm nice until i'm not.

In college, I shared a rent house with two other guys. We were all clean, responsible, and not party animals, so it worked out well. We ate extremely different things.

I lived off of healthy healthy foods- broccoli, beans and rice, canned tuna, etc.

Roommate A lived off tacos and leftovers (his mom lived about an hour away and would bake him casseroles).

Roommate B lived off of McDonald's, Wolf Brand Chili, and Ramen Noodles.

B's younger brother moved in with us after a year of the three of us living together in harmony. He started leaving messes and cooking Kraft Mac and Cheese all the time. He "borrowed" all of our foods a few times. He was about three years younger, so his older brother, B, talked to him about it and it stopped.

My sister ate my foods growing up and I hit her hahaha
