Posted by libralotusJust tell her she needs a makeover and offer to help.
I work at Hooters where appearance is everything. We have a host (Leo), which the same rules do not apply to the Hooters girls.. I hate to sound so critical but she looks AWFUL in the uniform (accShe threatened the managers she would quit if she couldn't move up and we were desperate on girls.
She's been set up to be bullied. Tables have called her terrible names, other coworkers have too, and I'm glad it doesn't bother her but I don't know if I should step in. No one will tell her or give her any advice and tips to make the uniform more flattering.
So how do you approach that convo? I feel so low even saying all of this but I'm trying to look out for her.

Posted by libralotusThen tell the other coworkers to say it to her face instead of behind her back.

Posted by ChuckcemShe seems confident in her uniform but she has a ton of rolls. Her face is cute. She is wearing a size too small in the shorts but I don't think it'd make a huge difference. She's spilling out of it and I just want her to realize that it's not flattering if she doesn't know that. She'd make more money and customers wouldn't shame her.
I'm not going to lie, I'm intrigued by the uniqueness of this question. I've had a couple of friends who've worked at Hooters. A couple of questions though. Is it that she doesn't look good in the uniform (I can extrapolate from there) OR is it that she's not conventionally attractive?
My first piece of advice is to not critique her in public. Leos don't do well with public humiliation. Also if she doesn't seem to be bothered by the name calling, how is it you that you plan to help her? What advice are you looking to give?

Women have enough to worry about regarding self image and self esteem.
And to work in an industry where their assets are judged by men changes how they think about themselves.
They don't need their own gender critiquing them as well.
She knows how she looks. She has a mirror.

Posted by libralotusI thought she was just a host? Does she get direct tips from the customers? Or do you mean she'd be promoted to server and make more money?Posted by ChuckcemShe seems confident in her uniform but she has a ton of rolls. Her face is cute. Posted by AndalusiaShe was moved up because they were desperate for servers. It happens all the time. Easier to move someone up than go through the entire hiring process. However, it doesn't always mean that person is an ideal candidate.Posted by libralotusI thought she was just a host? Does she get direct tips from the customers? Posted by GlaringTruthYou really don't have to have big boobs/big asses to work in hooters......I don't think that was what she meant by the uniform not being flattering
Hell none of the women in hooters ever have ass or boobs anyway. Just pretty faces. Leave that woman alone.
She's an adult, she'll know when it's that time to part ways. Most people really need to have another job lined up anyway before quitting, if she would even do that.

Posted by SofiaV87I like the money but it's kind of stressful most of the time. It doesn't fit her properly at all and I think she was bugging my manager so much about moving up that she just let her because no one has the guts to say anything.
Does she not fit Into her uniform properly? Is she spilling out of it? I worked at Hooters for a few months back in the day. I didn't like it lol

Hooters is a fucking ridiculous place to work for. They want those uniforms to be a size too small. Why management okayed her uniform is on them in why she looks the way she does. If your place is as shitty as all the others I hear about, your entire work environment is gross and you should defend her when people are talking shit. Maybe pull her aside if she's upset about it, but if she seems fine, I don't know if bringing it up is going to accomplish anything other than upset her.
Just because you'd be embarrassed if that was you doesn't necessarily mean others share in the same vapid views on personal looks. I understand the concern, but I'd only bring it up if she was clearly upset. But as you said, she seems fine, so what the hell ever.click to expand

Posted by libralotusGot it, so basically you want to give her constructive criticism without shaming her. One of the best ways to "critique" a Leo is to be direct.Posted by ChuckcemShe seems confident in her uniform but she has a ton of rolls. Her face is cute. Posted by AndalusiaAs a host she doesn't really have to fit the image. The image is "athletic" and it's not close. But she got moved up. Like I'm super understanding and normally it's not something that I'd even think about... but yes it makes me uncomfortable having to hear people call her a "fat B".... and not tipping her. I want her to be successful since she wanted to move up so bad
Again - how did she even get hired in the first place if looks are everything and she looks terrible?
And if the answer is anything along the lines of "she just came back from maternity leave", so help me God...

Posted by AndalusiaI'd guess that they hired her quickly cause they were short on girls and gave her an existing ill fitting uniform, their problem not hers!

...advice and tips to make the uniform more flattering.
If this is really your aim 😐
1. You have a great rack-- cut the collar out of your shirt, and flaunt it.
2. You have a great ass-- knot your shirt in the front, and...
3. You get the idea.
If it's a hopeless case, then leave her alone about it.
Or better yet, befriend her-- LEOs usually love Leebs,
except when you get wishy washy.
