Gem ex was millionaire. Like many rich people, he made a fortune by exploiting others, was a control freak and a narcissist. I had no idea at the beginning. If anything, I was worried that I would have to support him financially should we end up together, because he stopped working a few months before we met. I thought he was a former CEO with some assets, but no income and plenty of obligations….maintenance for his ex wife, expensive private school fees for his children, mortgage for his new house…
Only later on I found out he had investments worth many millions. He was so stingy, it was embarrassing….we rarely went to eat out, but when we did, and it was his turn to pay, he would refuse to give a tip….
I think what you really want to experience is someone who is generous and willing to spoil you, not the typical rich guy. Those are takers by definition, not givers. Don’t believe the literature and film, it’s all fiction.

I'm still not sure what that means, but if you mean someone with an expensive way of life, there is actually an inverse correlation between wealth and desire to display luxury.
Like Undine pointed out, rich guys tend to be stingy and misers (that's how they get rich in the first place) and if you go to lower end of the bracket, that's generally where you meet the guys obsessed with riding BMWs and wearing expensive clothing with the brand name on display.

Me too…. Except if they act anything like my tightwad father. It would be nice if he also has a similar mindset about money and charity. I’ve only dated one guy who had money, and it wasn’t a terribly huge amount because he has two kids. But it was nice to have someone who treated me to things: He took me to Disney for New Years one year, He surprised me with tickets to the Body Worlds exhibit and drove me to LA for it, He tattooed me a few times, He gifted me a phone I really wanted, He took me to concerts. He did more taking care of me in that respect than any other man and I have to admit it was really fucking nice—not only was he fun but he was responsible. Especially as someone who legit handles their own shit and tends to handle others as well, it was nice. He was 18 years my senior so it was a definite selling point for 40 yr old guys, minus the cheating on me with his kids friends mom shit lol.
