The LAST thing any of the girls or guys in my age group (and region, I guess lol) wanted was to be (or be with) a virgin at 18 or 20. It was totally normal to have lost it by 15 or16. That was before HIV/AIDS was really a thing outside the gay male community. We had parents and older siblings who lived through the sexual revolution and the '70's, so having sex with lots of people wasn't really looked at as bad overall. It was more whether you flaunted it or acted like a whore that was looked down on.
